But at first boot after ROM install, I had a question regarding the location, and I replied "no", and it keeps my choice. But this is not only M8HD rom related, I saw the same on Ifive mini 3 KitKat rom (and Kasty ROM as well).
It seems to be kitkat firmware related.

The only solution I found, is to install Xposed+GravityBox and set location toggle (the " like CM" one) on notification bar/quick settings. When you press the toggle, you will not see any difference at first, but later if you go to location, you will see the change.

    Hope it helps.
Hi, I have installed Gravity box, but I get no location toggle even if in the gravity box settings I choose to display location !

Even in the widget Power Control.

In fact not a big deal.

My location is always on, maybe I have said yes at the first question (don't remember)
But I can choose if I want to record location or not

I will try to look at the settings.apk

    Edt :

I found that the key ro.pipo.support.gps in build.prop show others settings in location.
But has pipoM8HD has no GPS, it is OK to let it to false.

I have installed the app Power Toggle from play store.

And with its widget, I can now enable or disable the location service.
A question is then showed if I want to enable location.

I don't know why I 've got no icon in quick settings even with Gravity box
But Power toogle does this, so it's OK for me

Hi... I'm sorry to be this guy but I just purchased the Pipo M8HD and I would like to flash it to your KitKat rom. I am on stock 4.2 Jelly Bean as of right now and have managed to root the tablet and I am completely lost on what to do... can any one give me some instructions on how to flash this ROM after root?

Just download zip file from first post and follow the instruction included (pdf file).
I managed to flash my tablet, so for sure this guide is foolproof ;-)

3G on my M8HD is working, but signal is much weaker than on the phone in the same location (and the same network and frequency). Are there any chances for other drivers?

                ... one thing though...

As I mentioned the room is flawless but I notice that I can't use the Google locations service... I know the Pipo M8HD doesn't have GPS but it would still be able to gather your location through the Wi-Fi signal. On this room the Google locations option seems to be turned off. Is there a way to get this working again?

There is a way to do it...I've had to manually turn on location services. But I can't remember the exact steps.

If you drag down the button bar in the notification bar (right side), there should be a location button. Just turn it on. Somehow the Google Location Services setting should pop up and you can turn it on (it's an app, not the settings control).

                    Hi,

I have written 6 posts above my solution

I haven't any location button in quick settings.

So I have installed the app Power Toggle from play store.

And with its widget, I can now enable or disable the location service.
A question is then showed if I want to enable location.

Is it the key ro.pipo.support.gps that you speak about ?

Yes but as I have no icon to start/stop location, it doesn't change anything for me.

For me , location was turning on, because when you first enable your google account you have to say one time if you want to enable location (I may have say yes !)

                      But I can't stop it !

Power toggle did that, and you can crash your Rom while editing build.prop !

Link, please? I found only Power Toggles. And it does not work for me. Every time I click in Hangout icon to share location, I see my current position. It means that location service is working (using wi-fi and 3G coordinates). After flashing and first start, there was a question about location service and I acknowledged. Location service is working now. I want to turn it off.

Yes, it's Power Toggles (sorry for s missing)

You then need to add its widget on your home screen as this :

Name:	Power Toggles.jpg
Views:	1
Size:	30.8 KB
ID:	433501

Then you have an icon to enable or stop location.

                            Guys, quick question
Are you able to do a backup with TWRP with this ROM?
I tried many things but I get the same message : "E: unable to mount ...."
                            Maybe I miss something...

Edit: Found the solution, I installed the last version of TWRP (v2.7.0.0) from Abdul_pt for RK3188 1920X1200 KitKat and it works

@Randy: you maybe need to update your ROM with this version...the current one included in this ROM doesn't work.
                            Cheers

Hi, I ask this: have You checked whether the updated TWRP version You mention is the same hinted in the very first post of this thread, here: http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...l=1#post153458 ???

I was asking muself the question and I'd probably need to update it as well, so I was wondering which version to use...

Thanks, I managed to switch off location service. But it was not that easy:-)
I installed Power Toggles [PT] and added default widget. Then I touched location icon and had to grant root privileges to PT. But it does not changed location mode in Settings. I started PT (apk from icon, not from widget). In PT - Settings -> Toggle settings ->GPS -> Sources
And there activated third and fourth box "Network" and "Off". First two boxes ("GPS & Network" and "GPS" leaved empty).
Now with PT, GPS icon I can activate/deactivate location services.
I checked ro.pipo.support.gps state in both cases. It stays "false" all the time (checking with build.prop editor).
