    Mine doesn't do this.
It might not be a sensor problem, but you can check sensor readings with something like Androsensor or Sensor Kinetics in the playstore. I haven't seen anything that adjusts sensitivity or turns sensors off.

      Pipo T9

Hello y'all. Hope u r all having a swell time where eva u are. Thanks to you guys on the forum I have succesfully rooted my pipo T9. This site and forum is one of the most loaded and educative I hv eva come across. Please keep up the good work. Thanks a mil to y'all. @ytheleus. I have discovered th reson why the tab locks up on its own. Its becos of the leather case I bought wit the tab. On removing it, I had no issues with the screen locking up upon any slight shake or movement.@ y'all. Please knowing that rooting voids warranty. Does unrooting with framaroot remove COMPLETELY ALL evidence of root from the tab, just in case I want to claim my warranty in the future. Or I there something else I hv to do to COMPLETELY unroot.P.S. I attempted unrooting frm d superSU settings but got a message like this "some kernels may re-root upon reboot" so I assumed unrooting with framaroot does nt actually remove COMPLETELY all evidence of a tab having been rooted in the past. A very hearty thanks in anticipation of ur helpful and informative responses to my Q.

I was able to create a stock boot and recovery image for my pipo T9 tab using mtk droid tool and sp flash tool. It may come in handy at any time. All that is left is some help on how to install/flash cwm recovery.

Click root on mtk droid tools then goto the second tab. One of the options will make and flash cwm recovery from your tab.

            Rooting voids warranty

I am sure this may be true ..if they choose to enforce it ...but in my case they did not.

I sent my M8 back to the vendor (Lightake) in China, and they sent it on to Pipo for the repair ...which they did, and sent it back.

Of course mine was nothing to do with software or the OS, but a damaged power switch.

Glad you worked it out. Well done.

With the official Pipo plastic case (which I like a lot) there's some kind of mechanism that makes the tab sleep when the case is fully closed. You can buy them separately.

I don't know how the sleep mechanism works, but I suppose your leather case is triggering it when you move it around. It might be possible to modify your case, if someone knows how how this mechanism works(?).

For casing, I use the official case, and put tablet and case inside a 9" soft neoprene pocket to protect against bumps during transport.

                Pipo T9

I just got the Pipo T9 and am quite happy with it. All functions have worked so far, wifi is stable, GPS worked fine with the unit placed on the passenger seat of a car (ie not near a window or on the windshield). Have not had a chance to check out the phone function yet (no SIM card). I listened to some music (flac files) through Sennheiser cans and the sound was very good. Through Pipo speakers - not so much, but I am not planning to use them. I watched some 1080p James Bond mp4 movies (blu-ray rips) and the picture quality was very good, pans were smooth, no jaggies. Nice little machine. I plan to buy a 64gb micro sd card and try it. If it does not work in Pipo I will use it in my camera.. I am a little nervous about sd and/or SIM getting stuck in there. We'll see. Oh, and on **** you can find an adapter cable - male usb on one end and a male DC 2.5 mm plug on the other end. Do you guys think I can charge the Pipo with a Galaxy S5 charger using that cable? I hate opening that plastic cover on the Pipo... Ugh...

@wojtek, I can assure you that a Samsung 64gb SDXC works very well into my T9.
About audio quality, it can be greatly enhanced using Viper4AndroidFX (search in XDA Dev). It really makes miracles, both in earphones than in integrated speaker!

Ok, I made the first step - I rooted the phone using the Root Genius. Worked well after I figured out that the PC must have internet access for the app to work. Oh well. Next step is Viper4Android and later maybe a custom ROM. I am wondering whether I should get KitKat update first before doing custom ROM.

Ok, here is a test custom RileyROM v1.0.

This ROM is based on official Pipo Jellybean firmware dated 4/26/14.

                      Rooted
                      Debloated
                      Init.d support added
                      Busybox command links added
                      Auto install, on first boot
                      English default

Please test and report. I haven't ordered a T9 to test, yet...donations are pretty slim right now. If you have good results, I will post a new thread for this ROM. Just read the First Time User's Guide in the ROM kit for flashing instructions.

                      Download

Here is a link to the stock firmware, just in case it doesn't work:

Thank you Riley for your good start in developing for the T9.
However, I wonder why do you picked 4/26 firmware instead of latest 5/22... ??

Thanks again, Riley. I installed TWRP 2.5.0.0 (haven't found any later release for MTK), but I don't know if backup process is working well. What is the best method to backup all tab memory?
If I manage to backup my files, I could try to flash other roms and help you as a tester.

If you have a rooted device, I would go with Titanium Backup. It's what I use. It's worth the $5 to get the paid version to unlock all of the features.

Go to the batch settings and run "backup all apps and system data". Then copy your backup folder to your external SD.

To restore, just install Titanium first from the Play Store and in preferences set your external SD as your backup folder...then "Restore Missing Apps with data". Within 5 minutes of flashing, you will have all of your apps/data restored. Just remember to keep all of the files you want to save on your external SD.
