    Oooooops

    I spoke too soon!

Same problem with D33's KK kernels. They are laggy and skippy on this system.img as well.

But the kernel from the radxa audio works. But it's some other wifi chip as wifi does not work on my A928. I will try AP6210 device next.

OK the radxa system.img is made for TV sticks!

It will work with D33's kernels if and only if you use loader 2.10. Once again though his kernels and loader 2.13 with this new KK system will not boot. I think loader 2.13 is some bugging instance possibly made to fix sticks with different hardware than I have. If this is an official RK release and they provided loader 2.10 then this is probably what should be used.

However the cool thing... the system is now NOT laggy with D33's kernel and video plays perfectly.

So bottom line folks. If you want to play with this release use radxa's system.img. It it a proper system for TV sticks and not a tablet ROM.

The radxa ROM works on my A928 and sound works!

So this has a proper TV stick kernel unlike the geekbuying release.

I just rooted the radxa ROM and plan to do some more testing.

Well yes they are not, this is being build by the founder of radxa Tom, but basically is the same except the build date that's earlier and kernel, but compared with winmerge I found no difference other than build stamp on libs or apk.

I did compare the two firmware and they are the same only difference is on kernel. As loader it use 2.10.
I own a minix neo x7 and I haven't tested any of them. If I will dare to test this what can go wrong?.. beside wifi and bluetooth?.. I would be able to go back to stock?..

There is something radically wrong with this ROM.
Yes it works with the supplied kernel but no sound as reported. It's got the wrong audio drivers in the kernel.

But when you use one of D33's kernels sound works but the entire system is laggy and jumpy.

I don't think this ROM is tuned for TV sticks or something. It's really ODD behavior that is going on.

Again another weird thing is D33 kernels and this ROM wont boot with loader 2.13 period. AND after trying things it is something in /system (the ROM itself) that causes this. Possibly some SELinux protection (permissions) and using metadata or something. I know this because if you use D33's kernels, loader 2.13, and my BETA 2.0 KK system.img it all boots fine. So something is in /system on this new ROM and we are missing something in the kernel sources D33 is using. That's my conclusion.

Needless to say, RK probably should not have released this ROM. It's terrible on performance!

I had never deal with rockchip devices. It will be first time to flash and I need to clarify some things.
    - when you refer to mask is about partition layout?..
    - the one from wasser kk thread for minix neo x7 will be ok?..

Figure out how to get to mask ROM mode and you're usually fine though I haven't had any MINIX units

    Weird man!

Never seen loader.bin do such things! But something is odd.

D33, your kernels work with the loader this ROM came with 2.10. But I was using loader 2.13 and you kernels will not boot with it! The stock kernel boot with loader 2.13 and 2.10 but yours wont boot with 2.13.

Wondering if its the metadata partition since people report 2.13 works with Jelly Bean which doesn't have this partition.

Also, with loader 2.10 and your kernels the system is laggy as hell which is why you saw such choppy video. Heck you can see how laggy mouse movements are with your kernel, this KK ROM, and loader 2.10. I think again the loader issue is the metadata partition thing nothing more.

More investigation needed here for sure.

When I substituted one of my kernels sound works but videos play with a black screen. If I amend video.overlay to 0 (set to 1) I get video playback but quality is awful.

    So, it needs work

Eric, if you get us the source code from the developers we'll build a proper one

Here is the ROM hosted locally and split into components to selectively flash for those that know what they're doing

Hey D33, on my MK908-ii (6210) I cant get this KK to boot with any of your kernels. It hangs on the google TV logo in your kernel? I tried 3.0 and 3.1 versions.

I am going to switch to my A928 and 6330 kernels and see if it will work.

Wonder if the built in mic with the a928 would be picked up.
