It's the same firmware I uploaded earlier.

Anyone got my firmware booted on devices other than AP6210?
I have an EKB31B MT7601 wifi chip and use bootloader v2.08 and Finless bootlarge.img and MT7601 Test kernel from d33, it shows the Android bootlogo and then the Android homescreen for 1 second but then jumps back to the bootscreen in an infinite loop.
Anyone who can help me?

DMESG for both. For your V4021, the TV box reboots every time I clicked on an icon, or connects it to a PC. Anyway, I captured DMESG with ADB. For the stock rom, I rooted the box and got the DMESG under TT.

Want to help out with some testing, but if possible without bricking my device^^

HI guys:

Rockchip release the official android 4.4 firmware for their tv box and tv stickes, today, we just get this firmware, it is special for the tv box which use AP6210 wifi module. If your tv box/sticks don’t use this module, please don’t flash, you will lose your wifi and bluetooth, please note!

We have tried this on MK908II and MK809III with AP6210, both can work well, please help to test more models, and report back.

The official firmware has fixed some bugs in the beta android 4.4 firmware, please flash and check.

One problem i find in this firmware is there is NO Google apps ( play store, gmail, google play service) preinstalled, It’s really sucks, don’t know why rockchip remove those in this official update, but i know we can add this by ourselves. I still tried to figure out how to install that by myself, if you know how to fix that, please leave message here. ok, here we go:

ROM is not rooted, and you should root by yourself. Here i recommend you a easy root method, download the root tool here:

Run and install this tool in your PC and go to your tv box setting, and open the “USB Debug” setting, and just click Get root button, this tool will help you to get root. easily.

ROM is still base on 720p. and we are working with the developer,and will release the 1080p version soon.

The total performance of Android 4.4 Kitkat has been improved a lot than the Jelly Bean Android 4.2. It has less boot time, and system is much steady and fast.

for installing the googleapps you can search for "GAPPS" (the package to be downloaded by android version ) and install it through CWM .
the gapps package is for those that installs CM roms that are naked from all the google stuff

My TV box is TV01 V3 (CS968), RK3188 "T" CPU with AP6210.
Here are my test results

(1) Kitkat_T010_AP6210_public_20140403, stock rom
WiFi + BT working
Sound over HDMI is working
Ethernet is working, MAC address assigned
All 4 USB ports are working.
IR remote - some keys work, probable not designed for my remote.
Camera/MIC/SPDIF - not tested
This ROM works very well. I could boot straight to KK 4.4 without using the powering OTG port method.

(2) Kitkat_T010_AP6210_public_20140403, with your "Kernel_AP6210_V4021_BOX.img"
I can boot up to the KK 4.4 screen. However, when I clicked on any icon, the TV box rebooted. There were also no status bars on the top and bottom of the screen.

(3) Kitkat_T010_AP6210_public_20140403, with your V3.1 kernel "kernel_AP6210_HD_v310_cpu1800h_gpu798h_ddr720 "
I needed to apply power to the USB OTG port prior to application of normal power to the TV box. WiFi + BT are working. Ethernet no MAC address.
Sound over HDMI is working
Only two of the USB ports are working (The stock rom has all 4 USB ports working).
Antutu mark >20000.
