I'm currently working on TWRP recovery. I need to verify that TWRP is working so I can decide what format to package the ROM and patches in.
At present, due to the structure of Rockchip ROMs, it looks like some things (like parameter files for storage layout) are only going to be flashable via PC or stock recovery, while other things will be flashable using TWRP.
In the future I hope to be able to modify TWRP or create a script or program so that we can flash any part of the ROM from tablet without reverting back to stock recovery.
I should definitely get a rooted KK rom package out this weekend and possibly more.

I think the modified ROM is ready...
I believe the modified ROM is ready. I'll package everything up, perform a final test and upload it sometime tonight.
I might be able to get some optional patches to change the /data and /sd card sizes ready also.
TWRP recovery still needs a little more work. Maybe next week for TWRP.

No problem, take your time.
That powering off without warning thing others have been talking about has happened to me three times now. I remember you saying the reason kingo root app recognizes the tablet as a different tablet is because Nextbook is sloppy with their ROM's and use all or parts of the same ROM for multiple tablets. Anyway I got to thinking, when the tablet shuts down without warning the battery level says there is still maybe 25% battery left, and maybe the battery indicator part of the ROM is from a different tablet with a bigger battery. Is this something that can be fixed in your ROM eventually?

I think most of the stuff leftover from other models that I've seen is either build.prop entries or .ko / .so files that are no longer used.
I don't know much about how battery management works on Android. Maybe there are some apps that could recalibrate the battery indicator?
