The same thing happened to me a few days ago with the new firmware. Did the factory an sd format too.I had an external USB hard drive attached and was copying some files to the tablet when it powered down because of low battery. When I booted the tablet back up, the startup wizard that comes on when you first buy the tablet popped up. Most of my apps were uninstalled but not some. Checked in settings and saw that all the uninstalled apps still taking up the same space in the data partition. Weird. Did another factory an SD format and been running well ever since.

I figured it had something to do with the tablet powering down while copying files from the hard drive because when I first bought the tablet and rooted it (using latest baiduroot app, I currently have my PC in pawn), the same thing happened. Was copying files from hard drive and powered down again. Only this time it would not boot. It would loop at the nextbook startup screen. I was able to boot into stock recovery and factory format. That did the trick. I now only connect an external device when my battery is over 50%.

Sounds like corrupted /data and /cache...

Factory reset and sd erase would be the way to go...

I did the factory reset and sd card erase thru system settings and its still happening. Some appear to be uninstalled but they seem to actually be there but not recognized..

Example.....it said that my app CM security was uninstalled but when I installrd another app, CM Security scanned the app just as it should even tho both the tablet and the play store showed it as not being installed....go figure...

Yeah, same as me. But mine's been running fine after factory an SD reset.

It doesn't seem to me to be much faster, if at all. I broke the screen of my NX008HD8G so I bought one of these as a replacement.

I did the same thing. It didn't take much to crack that screen - I don't even remember when it happened, but it still works. I bought the new one anticipating that the old one might fail at any time.

One very fat cat happened to it. :P Internal cracking. Tablet was live but the screen was 90% dead. 2 year replacement at 28$ was worth it.

Yeah that $28 warranty sure came in handy for my sister's NX008HD8G tablet twice when the screens cracked. The last one took the digitizer portion with it, too. Then this new model (nx785qc8g) came out, and we got it at first glance with another 2 year extended warranty on it.

@eegorr, Yeah I've been considering that particular case for a while now. I may buy the camo and blue ones for these tablets soonish.

Any word yet on a Kyser root package. 4.4.2 is nice and all but I find it somewhat dull without root access.

Maybe tonight if I don't pass out from exhaustion after (or before) completing my college assignment that is due tonight.

Development is going well. A customized version of the ROM is nearly ready. I think the only things left to do are package it, flash it, test it and post it.

I still need to put together a version of TWRP, but I don't foresee any trouble in doing so.

I suspect everything will ready for posting very soon.

I have this exact same problem. Running a custom ROM found at XDA, so would this point to this problem being a hardware issue?

                              Note the internal storage.

I bought a camo case for something once - then I proceeded to lose it!
