I have this problemas well. The thing to do is check the permissions on the apps. Chances are it suppresses notifications. You need to shut it off on a per app basis.

Working on it currently... It's been an extremely busy week. Hoping to release some files tonight or tomorrow.

            Return to JB Stock

What's the quickest way to get back to JB stock for this device? Searches are not returning anything useful. Thanks in advance!

There isn't anyway to revert currently... Do you really want JB back or just want root on KK?

I dumped the JB stock ROM from my device before I upgraded, but I'm not sure if it's worth my time to attempt assembling an update package from it?

I'd like to see this as an option, for warranty purposes, if nothing else. But it is a low priority compared to the other things you're working on.
                Nextbook Premium 8 SE (Next8P12) - * ROOTED * (Sold on ****)
                AML8726-M3 Cortex A9 @ 1GHz

                Nextbook Premium 8 HD (N0008HD8G) - * ROOTED *

                Nextbook 8 (NX785QC8G) - STOCK (unfortunately)

Is it even possible to get warranty service on these anymore?

I know they advertise a 1 year warranty, but last I heard they weren't doing RMAs anymore... they just instruct owners to return the device to the place of purchase...

As far as I can tell, these are a Wal Mart exclusive in the US and Wal Mart won't accept returns after 14 days unless you paid $20 or $30 for an extended warranty.

I suppose I can try creating a package when I get a chance though... it will be good to know if it is possible to make a working update from a dumped system and if so how. I'm still new to developing for RockChip hardware.

Will be donating unit to a non-techy family member and want to just get back to factory condition. No hurry or rush but would be greatly appreciated. Could also benefit someone who mucks things up and wants to stat all over

You can always reflash the official KK update from Nextbook... that will ensure warranty compliance and get you back to a stock system.

I've already softbricked mine and reflashed it with the official update. (More than once... )

Or RKBatchTool ... many thanks o Shaun for steering me down the correct path. Used the RKBatchTool to update with the KK update.img and looks like I am good to go.

That's one way to do it...

In my case, I was still able to boot to stock recovery, so I just reflashed the official update using stock recovery.

I had tried this also, but for me, it would hang at the logo screen and go no further.

Any word on when the new update will be done ,Shaun? I know your a very busy man. Guess I'm getting antsy and tired of all the flaws in having to deal with KK.
