I've greenified all user apps and most system apps and problem still persists.
I'll let everyone know if I have any luck recalibrating mine via the methods I posted previously...

My tablet also had battery issues on 4.2.2 and on 4.4.2. I have a feeling the tablet is not reading the voltages correctly. All li-on batteries that are installed in devices have on board under/overvoltage protection. They won't allow charging beyond 4.2 volts and shut off battery supply around 2.8 volts which is consistent with rapid shutdown. I have a feeling a fix needs to come from nextbook or a custom rom. The other option is the battery is cheap and the on board protection is itself reading incorrectly. One sure way would be to crack on open and read the battery directly with a multimeter.

I'm sure this tablet will have nand memory chips on the board rather than an SD card...

This is in no way to come across as trolling, ill just put that out front.....
In going through the thread ive noticed that you have been on the verge of releasing the img within 24hours, over the past several weeks. I know everyone is patient and appreciates your efforts, but if you keep posting things like "within 24 hours" or "this weekend" or "tommorrow" it keeps people running to the thread over and over to find nothing.
If you have no plans or have caught a hiccup, let the folks on the thread know. However posting these timelines over and over is getting old.
With that I do thank you for your efforts with the image, but ask for consideration of those who are getting strung along by these ever changing release dates

Sorry guys... I know it gets frustrating... and I share your pain... unfortunately sometimes family gets in the way and sometimes I just end up too exhausted to work on things...
I did run into a snag this week... when I compiled all my changes together into a single full ROM update and installed it... my tablet wouldn't shut down properly... something in the shutdown process failed and aborted and it would just return to the lock screen...
I spent many hours over the past few days troubleshooting, finally gave up and started over with a fresh copy of the official update... everything with the ROM now seems to working perfectly, but I need to move a few more apps around today. (Working on it currently.) Apparently the problem was caused by corrupted files somewhere along the way.
Patches to change /data & /sdcard sizes will come a little later...
Also, I haven't spent anymore time working on TWRP yet (aside from a little research). I've been focused on getting a rooted ROM with a few extra features out, and I will return to working on TWRP after I get the ROM posted.
On another topic... my battery indicator currently seems to be working correctly. I charged it to 100% (took forever), then unplugged and powered down, waited awhile (I was out all day), turned it on and it reported 88%, charged it to 100% again, did a factory reset (ROM testing for you guys) and ever since, my battery indicator appears to be working correctly, however I haven't drained it down very far yet.
I did notice during this process that the low battery indicator seems to appear at 10% or below and that the tablet doesn't seem to power on at all until (even plugged in) until the battery reaches 5%.
I also noticed that the battery only seems to hold steady while the tablet is in use and plugged in... if the screen is on, it charges extremely slowly (if at all).
Thanks again to everyone for your patience, support and for following my projects here at Freaktab!

New ROM uploading currently... Who wants to test?
I'm currently uploading my modified version of the official update for the NX785QC8G...
Pre-rooted, init.d, adb root, etc...
Who wants to try it before I release it publicly?

Installation is simple...
1. Unzip it to find the update.img file
Then you have 3 options:
Option 1. Put the update.img on your external SD card, boot into stock recovery, choose update rkimage from external storage, wait...
Option 2. Put the update.img on your external SD card, boot into android, choose yes when prompted to install update.img
Option 3. Flash from PV using one of the many rkflash tools (you'll have to look elsewhere for flash tools and instructions... check the forums here at Freaktab)
After install... I strongly advise doing a factory reset and recommend erasing SD card also.
Also, don't leave the update.img on your external SD card, because you'll be constantly prompted to install it over and over again...

FYI
My new ROM has been sent to a few people for testing.
As soon as I get some feedback, I'll release it publicly (assuming no issues are reported.)
