If you are asking whether your tablet is compatible with one of the two KitKat ROM's...the only real way to find out is to remove the back and see if your tablet has 1 or 2 NAND chips. The 1 chip tablet will be pretty obvious...because there will be an unfilled place on the circuit board for another NAND chip.

My ROM only works on those tablets with 2 NAND chips.

Dnkn's ROM only works on those tablets with 1 NAND chip.

    I hope that helps.
What i wanted to say is that I have now installed 1.6 or 2.0 (don't remember at all), but I want to upgrade my tablet to the latest firmware, and I don't know which is the latest firmware compatible with my M9 Max old pcb.

So any tip will be appreciated, even a "how to" remove back cover.

    Thanks and best regards

What you need is a thin knife blade...like an exacto knife. Use a guitar pick or a credit card to hold your place as you work around the back of the tablet.

There is a series of little clips that hold the back on all the way around.

Start on the side opposite the buttons and input jacks. Don't loose anything that falls out...it may be the little plastic button pieces.

Be very careful around the sd slot...some people have ruined the sd slot opening the tablet.

When you get the back off...just look for the NAND chip. You can tell immediately whether you have one or two. If there's two...they will be the only big chips that are identical.

Thanks a lot, but... can I use try-error without make the tablet useless?? I think there are too many risks opening back cover...

Unfortunately, there's no other way of knowing which version you have.

What I mean is if I can try one version and if it bricks my tablet...can i recover it and try the other version?

            Sorry for my English

Hahaha!!!! I guess you could flip a coin and decide which ROM to flash. I would rather not have to take you through the whole unbrick procedure. You should be sure to read up on it before you start. Check the stickies in the main Pipo section.

                Regarding the SD slot :-
                1. Take the SD card out (if you have one).
                2. Don't work the exacto knife or credit card along that top edge. Do the other three sides, then just lift the cover off with a small horizontal movement to detach the cover from the top side.

Also the cover will still be attached to the main body by the speaker wires, but by carefully rotating the cover as you lift it off, you can move the cover far enough to be able to inspect and/or work on the tablet.

It's not as scary as it sounds.

                  playstore

                  Hello.

I have just installed Rileyrom 2.5 on my Pipo M9 Max (16Gb)
Most things seem to work fine, except for the play store.
Installing new apps seems to take forever, the play store seems to stall, sometimes during downloading, sometimes downloading is fast, but installing the app seems to stall. (up to several hours)
The wifi connection is fine, and once the app is finally installed it works fine.
Sometimes rebooting the tab seems to help.
I already reflashed the tab, but it makes no difference.
I would like to try installing Kitkat, but i don't know if my tab has one or two nand chips.

                  Any thoughts on this?
                  Greets, Ger.

I purposely did not flash the kitkat rom because i did not feel like opening up my tab.
I just have this one problem with Rileyrom 2,5 and hope it can be solved.
For the rest i am fine with this rom.

                          no usb

i opened up my tablet and found out that i have 2 nand chips.
So i should be able to use Rileys kitkat rom.
Unfortunately the usb connection doesn't seem to work anymore.
I use the usb (not the host) connection with the same cable and same computer as before, but it doesn't register. (several times plugging and unplugging, even trying the host connection)
The other problems also still exist; slow or not at all installing from play store or apk's
I got the Humble Bundle app intalled, but the games do not download
The reboot to twrp app works (after waiting for about 5 minutes).
Can i use this to install kitkat?
For now my tab is barely usable.

                            usb

The play store and Humble Bundle app are working normal again.
Don't know why they misbehaved before.
Now still the usb connection to the pc doesn't work

The USB cable you use MUST be the same cable that came with the tablet. The connector that plugs into the tablet is slightly longer than normal. Hard to notice with the naked eye.If that's not your problem, then you may have to re-install the drivers again (read Riley's procedure in the ROM package).Good luck.

                                cable

You were right, i had to use a different cable.
The other cable worked the first time, but not the second.
Now i finally installed Kitkat, and so far everything works.
