No output from HDMI

The thing is, I did not touch my HDMI cable after I plunged it in. My picture went snowy after playing a game so I restarted it, and that's it, it whent. No HDMI output.

I think it isn't only because of mechanic I think it's also because of high temperature and bad soldering....

So what do I do then. Do I re do the soldering & drill it full of holes. Lol this is a joke. I sent mine back 3 days ago, and now I find out how to fix it. Guttid.

I guess its a bad soldering if it was a temp. problem minix would take care of their new X8 boxes ... Case has no air vent holes at all ...

Almost, the same..
I was watching 1080 content using mx.. When i noticed some dead pix on my screen
-white dots.. on black background
I thought mx issue.. Changed settings to HW+
Then later Poof.. Monitor 'limit range' then 'out of range' then black
Monitor off/on followed by unit off/on
Tried diff.. Tv's ect..fw..cables ( till i found this post/today)

Anyway..
Unit was on top of A/V recievers airholes.. for better cooling ( reciever was off )
-to later test spdif/optical out
Only touching unit for sd insert/upgrade (6 hours later it poofed) ( checked fw dl time)
-pretty unlucky
But, what now?
Do I Rip open the box and solder the hdmi.. probably losing warranty?
or
Return unit..?

Sorry but this is bollox, as soon as my PayPal dispute goes through the box is going back. Won't even power on now at all, just coz these boxes are from a Chinese brand and a Chinese company does that mean it's okay that we have to rework internal components?? My PlayStation, my tv, my phone all made in China, shit, probably my underwear, would I dare crack em open and dig out the soldering iron?! Yeah sure we know what we're buying its Tronsmart, but we still pay a premium price for a product tht probably costs peanuts to manufacture, premium price premium product right? If this was Sony or anyone else it would have been recalled, send em all back, kick up a fuss over return fees, don't let them profit over our misfortune, sick of it

Geekbuying should have put these through THOROUGH testing not just a quick plug in and update firmware job. They have once again let down hundreds of customers, supplying cheap, shit products, and I hope people take that into serious consideration, I was naive enough to get excited over the hype of this product, that seemed too good to be true, once again my second Tronsmart device supplied by geekbuying and faulty within a week.. I'd expect more lifetime from a pound shop fm radio or a ******* cheese grater for what it's worth, lesson finally learned

if H Devices has the same trouble that means its not Cpu Related issue...

Now I am depressed, I am afraid that my new Tronsmart S89 elite will be broken soon like yours, I don't know if to wait till it fails or just return it now and buy the new Minix (more then 70 days process to my country )?
I didn't believe the board design is so poor- if it were ~50$ Box I would maybe understand it, But for the most popular design for 105~120$ - not Unacceptable!
I advise to my broter to buy it- now He is gonna be angry on me .

Yes, of cause it isn't related to the SoC... we learned it is related to the HDMI-port-module and the way how it is soldered...

BUT I'm really really really pissed off the factory...

... I have talked serious with factory, they think it maybe caused by the cold welding technology in first bulk so they improve that in next bulk. ...

=> maybe 1-2% can happen, but should not happen

BUT know we see, they learned nothing and aren't really able to fix this problem of bad solder AND/OR ill-fitting HDMI-port-module at the pcb...

I have done my best to watching the problem, talking with factory, improving the quality test. Things is not that bad as you guys image. BOB already get our sample long time, and the device is still working ok, and most of the customers get our device, and like what i am talking, only 20customers report back for the hdmi problem. and i am talking with mitchell4you to learn more detail about his problem.



@Smokez, i am sorry to let you down twice, but at least now you are take cared by us, we are trying our best to solve the problem for you,right? Image if you get this device from other place,if they would love to do what i am doing.

For geekbuying, customer satisfaction is way better than the profit.

we are focus on the android tv boxes business for years, there are too many factories come to us, and want us to sell their products, if the quality is not good, i will directly say NO to them.

I spent time, money to contact different developer, donate samples to different developer, i just hope with their help, you guys can get much more funs with our products.
