I had the same problem
Bought the unit from **** and it was dead out of the box.
sent it back to the seller and got refunded after a month.
I didn't get output on both HDMI & A/V no meter what I did.
I got a new unit from geekbuying and received it yesterday (luckily it works hehe) and today I found this post.
It's good to know there is an easy solution to this problemLast edited by Kobi G; 11 August 2014, 06:29.

It now displays video through the HDMI port. Pyn was right, i pushed the HDMI port down on the PCB and it lit up the port without having to jack with the cable. So I fired up my soldering iron, melted a little solder on the tip to create a hotspot, flipped the board over and found something small enough that I could press the HDMI port down on each corner as I heated up the connection point. After doing all 4 i'm happy to report that the connection and display is solid even with moving the HDMI cable around...AS IT SHOULD BE FROM THE FKING FACTORY.
I don't like having to crack open my brand new devices that I spent over $100USD on. Shame on Geekbuying.

The pins are on the other side. You'll need some magnification to solder them except if you have an abnormally good gift in sight.

The tiny ones behind the HDMI connector

are many pins?
Anyways i can't return the box as it took a month JUST to receive the box (I'm in South America) plus there is a new law that will take effect starting September that for any import that fits the 4kilos-$400 range (called 4x4 service by couriers) one will have to pay $42 tax.
... so i'm screwed from that part, it is easier for me to find someone to re-solder the thing.
I need this ASAP please please pleaseeee
TIA

Funny how problem was resolved yet more and more ppl come forward with the same problem... It is geekbuyings fault when they continue to sell them on a large scale knowing about the problem since day one. Still never got my return shipping refunded, that was around March this year. Said it when I bought my faulty cx-919 from them last year and didn't keep to my word, but I for one will never take my business there again... They do offer a wide range of products at reasonable prices, and will, EVENTUALLY after many many pain staking emails and PayPal disputes, refund your money, but wouldn't be better if they just scrapped selling known faulty items in the first place rather then continuing to flog there dodgy stock... Just my 2 cents, thought this thread would have run dry by now, but seems it never will

Yesterday at night was working fine, i powered the box off, nobody toched the box or anything around; now few minutes ago i went to power it on and the screen colors while booting were not right, it had a pink color layer so i unplugged hdmi cable, plugged it in again and for my bad no hdmi output since then. WEIRD!

i need to watch a video about this, hope i can find one
You start with the USB connectors (next to the power button) and then bend the case a little back at the HDMI connector (which prevents the board form sliding in).Once you get the HDMI connector in its hole the board goes in all the way. You might have to help the Ethernet connector a bit along the way.
Good Luck!

I am not convinced that soldering is necessarily the whole problem with them.
See my other post for a designe issue with the HDMI port (quick and simple fix)

as long as the screws have been completely removed, the top is off (I peel the wifi antennea off the top case and cover the sticky side with some waxes paper (sticker-sheet) backing, then "turn" it out a little bit (lifting the board about a mm, so it clears the two tabs that sit in the board cut-outs)from the micro-sd-slot end, then pull the board out, whilst levering gently from behind between the case and the board near the RJ45 port.
