    I bet you I know what happened. I'm sure every single one of these devices work fine on the bench, which is where all of these quality control stickers come from. I wouldn't go and blame the soldering guy (maybe), i'd blame the idiot who designed the round case and the tight tolerances for the PCB. I still can't get the damn thing back into the case, and i'm using some not so nice force to get it in there. So here it sits, out of its case, but at least its working. The hell with this.

      yea it takes some skill to get it back. Broke a bit off the lid to get mine back. But it gets in with some pratice.
      The two boxes i've opened had the IR sensor bent back flat (had shitty remtote function!). Poor assember had he's/hers days (obviously) to assemble the bloody thing and in the process the pinkie pressed down on the sensor. Did it myself the first few tries. Give them time, soon they will assemble them in < 30mins without damaging the connectors.

        Well, in my case I had to (re)solder the tiny pins of the connector...

        I guess that heating up the 4 big ground pads while pressing the connector against the PCB might help the other little pins to make contact (even if they aren't properly soldered) but that doesn't seem a solid solution for everyone.

            Ok, i am also f**ked by this factory... read so many complaint about the no hdmi out put problem.

            guys, we really do the test, and each device have hdmi output when the factory give the device to us.

            I have talked serious with factory, they think it maybe caused by the cold welding technology in first bulk so they improve that in next bulk. however, more and more first bulk customer report the problem make geekbuying like shit on this device.

            ok,here is our solution:

            1 if you don't have hdmi output when you receive it, just contact our customer service, we won't give you pain on return to us, return shipping cost is handle by us;

            2 i will confirm the factory again,and if they can't promise the problem is removed in second bulk, then, no more sales till they fix it.

            Geekbuying Don't WANT TO SELL SHIT, I know new products maybe have software problem, but hardware bugs is not allowed in my mind.

            forgive me, guys.

            Sorry.

                    I bought 4 first batch devices. 1 has HDMI gone bad. My dad is posting he's defected device to me - will tack it with the solder iron and see if I get lucky.

                    Remember there are lots of these device in the field and only few give problems - especialy those that had the HDMI plugged many times (Like my dad). People typically do not have enough HDMI ports on their TV/aV and have to swap out the devices all the time - that buggers the HDMI socket quickly it seems. (Or they ticker allot with it).
