It seems the new trend in marketing/sales/advertising is trickery lies and deceit.these units should have been pulled from selling.and sent back to maker for better quality control .it would save more money in the long run and be more convenient to the customer,Yet they are sold hoping for a good one or a stupid customer.I tell you all this if I have the least doubt on my unit I will ask for full refund and seller will pay for return shipping back.Geekbuying.com this mess could have been avoided.use this as a model for future mishaps.

Its a money grab to them.

As long as they ship they can claim its your fault anf they dont really care about the name as they can simply change it like they have before.

As for shipping back there no certainy that you get a replacement as others haven't and if you don its likely going to be another defective unit like others have received with rma returns.
Five months later of course.

Truth be told its only four points on the hdmi that need re-soldering and its going to be cheaper to have it fixed then the cost of shipping.

I will not order from Geekbuying again for a replacement.Paypal has a good policy on refunding money for defective device.no I am not able to do repairs and it is small town I live in no electrician repair person.but it is not my responsibility to fix others mistakes.I paid for a fully functional device and that is what I expect.

I'm in the same boat as. Musicboy. I will not close my store. to more than 10 km to repair my s89-h. and lose $ x. for them. they just have to repair the weld before sending. they think I work for them. welding is not a problem. when one is beside a technician or repair shop.

I had to make a mini clamp for re soder. It seems that if you don't apply some pressure to the hdmi port the repair is not good. Once I bought the 3 dollar mini clamp and re did the 6 boxes returned they all are fine now.

OK received My s89h device today and out of the box it was fully functional.other than the learning curve of a new box it was a good experience.installed Hullu,spotify and google play music all acess all were no problem. I will give more details and updates in a few days.I got a good one(I hope).oh yea I ordered on the 15th received on the 21st excellent timeing for international shipping,More to follow.

Box worked ~two weeks without any issues.
Turned it off yesterday after watching some movies.
Turned it on today......."No Signal" over HDMI.
WTF, I didn't touch anything.
I have a 2.1A revision from 6.2014.
Fiddling with the HDMI cable produces a picture, sometimes.
What a piece of utter cr*p.
Should have read all the comments and complaints before.
However, I will try to resolder the pins tomorrow and definitely never buy a "no name brand" again!
This really, really sucks.

I found that sliding the Board to the left (kind twisting as i got it lifted at back.) clamp on the hdmi it was a must hard to hold and soder same time.

Yup it certainly does and i feel your pain.
Upside the four pins on the bottom are easily fixed.
Just remember to clamp the hdmi down when you do so it makes solid contact.

Not the greatest image quality, but I think everybody can see what a crappy soldering job the Chinese did....
Looks like, almost every pin is lose and it seems, that they also tried to save solder.

I do not have this problem,I have been thinking if maybe the problem comes into play from the tight space of enclosure and the heat generated loosening the solder points.Not a tech type person but could this be?Maybe if tronsmart made ventilation vents problem would resolve.
