I don't have a XP or Win7 PC, so I guess the PC method is out for me. So can I use Quickflasher to install the complete package? Without need of any PC?

I downloaded "qs3.1-x7-en.rar" and it contains "update.img", and lots of other stuff, can I include that with the kernel zip for Quickflasher? I am not sure how to begin.

I am currently running an old Finless rom, 1.6 I think. But want to upgrade to KitKat. I think I understand how to use Quickflasher, but I am not sure what files I need to put in the Quickflasher folder.

    USB DAC audio

I am quite shure that it will play on a USB DAC, but without a display (on the DAC) its impossible to tell if it is or not downsamples.

    Thanks for trying

Note : I have also a USB DAC but without a display. My DAC have also a spidf (coax) input. This is a long shot but may be the digital music is extract from the USB board and send to the spidf circuit. IF I am very lucky, then I would get a USB to coax conversion. I can use the spidf as an output, plug it to my receiver and verify if I get 24/96 transmission. Will try later....

Hi, I took the USB DAC I have and intercept the digital signal to feed my Onkyo receiver thought the Coax (spidf) input. Yes , it work. The program USB audio player (trial version) bypass all the audio section and take control. In the Minix sound preference menu, no audio output is selected. This is normal when the program take control.

I have manage to play 2 channel 24 bit/96 kHz stereo file and my receiver acknowledge that the frequency is 96 kHz. My receiver dont say if its a 16 or 24 bit file. My setup did not work with a 192 kHz file, but the audio DAC was playing the file through the analog output only Their a limit of 24 /96 on s/pidf, so its not surprising. USB audio player program indicate «DAC: 192 000». I assume that it mean that it transmit at this frequency.

HDMI can support up to 8 raw channel at 24/192 ( if implemented by Minix). It would be great if we can make this work. Then I would not need a USB DAC and I could play multichannel audio file.

Is it possible to take the same approach as the «USB audio player» and bypass all the Minix audio section to avoid file downsampling ?

    Regards,

    Miracast and Airpin Pro ?

    Dear Nitroteam,

is the any chance you will make available the Wi-fi Display app in QS3.1 or in the next version ?

Also, it is really unfortunate we cannot use Airpin Pro because of the check on the system name in the build.prop file. OK, we can change it (BTW, the check is only when the app is installed or each time it runs ?), but is there any other final solution ?

    Thanks in advance.

I had a look at wassers KitKat and it seems that the dark camera issue is fixed there. Any chance of copying the fix over to this rom?

I have a DAC and as far as I know I can play anything - I've tried some high quality SuperCD WAV files with 24bit - 96 khz. However I am not sure if it downsamples it.

Most post about this topics mention that it play but according to the display on the DAC, the sound 96/24 original file is downsample in the MInix to 44,1 kHz/16 bit. Same as spidf and HDMI, even set to Passthrough. I have tried several compatible Hi-Res audio player (Deadbeef, PowerAmp, XBMC...) with different SPIDF and HDMI setup. I am looking at the DAC option now.

    Thanks

Also, but you already read it,

I am a bit disappointed as I am unable to get high-res audio through HDMI with the X7...

Probably, we could collect all of the audiophile sound experiences and issues with the X7 in a new, dedicated thread...
    Thanks for the reply.
I have read all those tread. Most DAC dont have a display, but those that do always says 16/44.1 with 24/96 music file.

Each one has his own sources, but yes we both use a SDK with 3.0.36+ sources.

    You must test and decide.
Please don't start a "what rom is better?"

The program you are using that needs root access must request root access... SuperSU will then ask if it is ok or not... then you accept it if it is.
