Nope you cannot. You have to unpack the ramdisk from boot.img and modify the init.rc files.
You can use a root explorer to see the info in init.rc but your edits will not work because they are packed and uneditable in Android when in boot.img.

I am having issues streaming Netflix in HD. So I noticed that this is spoofed at a nexus 10, which according to Netflix isn't compatible for HD streaming, only the Nexus 7. Is this right? That is my last remaining issue to fix. Any information, tips or a fix would be greatly appreciated.

      Thanks,

      FJ

) Build.prop edit to open up the Google Play store to APPs that normally say "not compatible".
I am spoofing a Samsung device (Nexus 10) that will show almost any APP as compatible.
This should also allow Netflix HD but I have not tested it.
Your device will show up in google play as Nexus 10 device not a Vega S89! Understand this please.
I also left the original build.prop in the ROM called build.orig.
If you want to go back, just use ES FIle Explorer or a root file explorer and rename build.prop to build.old
        Then rename build.orig to build.prop.
Go into settings, apps, all and go into the Google Play app. Clear the cache and data.
Reboot! You should be back to showing up as a Vega.

Chrome as default browser (render engine)

Awesome roms you are making Finless!

But does anyone know how I can set the chrome browser as default browser?

I’m making an application that makes use of HTML5 video.

Somehow this only works in the Android chrome browser.

To make sure: I’m not talking about preferences-> set chrome as default.

I want in app webviews and stuff to use chrome as render engine.

          Thanks in advance!

Me too Florian83260, i'm happy to see i'm not the only french guy on this site who have the canal+ app.
I don't know if you have the canalplay app but it's even worst.
Unfortunatly, i'm affraid to see the death comming before someone who have this apps and the dev level of finless or oman.
The only way to see this issue disappear is that the source of the problem is the same as another bigger app.

            Wait and see my friend...Pending...

I just try finless 1.6 (before i was under official 103k4).
Hey guys, mycanal app is incompatible with Nexus 10 .
I've downloaded it anyway because i thought it was just because of the spoofing that the playstore said it's incompatible.
But, when i launch the app, there is a message "technical prob, try it later"...
I think there must be a device detection at the launch.
Roolmapool, do you have a link for the canalplus app 2.05 ?

Othewise, yesterday night i tried Xbmc 14 alpha1 nightly build
                xbmc-20140611-603c7fa-master-armeabi-v7a.apk 11-Jun-2014 07:54

                4K OK

                IP TV Simple OK

No, sorry. Hard to find on the web.... But, i download 2.05 with playstore on bob v1.6 because of nexus spoofing... Seems it doesn t work anymore
Btw a new version is out today... maybe more fluid...
Maybe you can use a titanium backup trick... You save app on android phone, and restore it on tv box.

I finally change the build.prop by the original like explain in page 1 of this post.
I can have the mycanal app now, but the framerate is so bad!!!
Maybe the app works only whith software decoding and don't use the 8 cores of the Mali...

                            hi

i really like your roms, and i have several sticks and boxes

just one issue with this rom:

apparently im unable to write on an external NTFS 2TB disks. I tried with a couple of manager and apps, but it seems it appears as "read only".
no problem whatsoever on other android sticks (rk, aml, etc.)
should i do enable it or something?

This is a known issue. We think it is because a license is needed to support NTFS write (Microsoft) and AML doesn't have it thus it is mounted as RO.

To verify this I need someone to hook up a NTFS drive.
                              Then install terminal emulator
                              Run it.
type su and agree to super user prompt
                              then type
                              mount
it will list all mounted devices and their read/write status.

Technically it's likely because they just use the NTFS read support that is included in the Linux kernel. To get proper full NTFS support they need to use the ntfs-3g FUSE driver instead.

The reason they haven't could very well be due to a lack of an NTFS license like you say though.
