    Great stuff

Could you not get the tab into Cwm by holding the volume minus button instead of the standard volume plus.?

No, I couldn't get into CWM by holding the volume minus button, then pressing the power button. I didn't try the Volume minus button by itself. Has that worked? My understanding is that in the stock Cube roms, the CWM launch buttons are not enabled, and that is why you have to add that Combination_Key line in the parameter file.

        Thank you

To be fair I had some difficulty. The way that worked every time was to hold volume minus and plug charger in.

Could you share your parameter file and the way you did it all. That would be great so Bob could have a look

        Thank you

If the CWM launch keys are not working, check that your parameter file contains the COMBINATION_KEY line (and if not, simply insert it before flashing) e.g.

          KERNEL_IMG: 0x60408000
          COMBINATION_KEY: 0,6,A,7,0
          CMDLINE: console=ttyS1,115200n8n androidboot.console=ttyS1 init=/init initrd=0x62000000,0x800000

Notepad++ on Windows is recommended to edit the parameter file. Do not use Windows notepad.

Notepad++ needs to be set up for creating and editing Android/Linux files.
Notepad++ settings: In Settings/Preferences/New Document/Default Directory" set "New Document format" to "Unix".
If opening/converting/creating a document to Unix/Linux format with Notepad++ you need to check two things:-
Menu > EOL Conversion > Unix
          Menu > Encoding > UTF-8 without BOM
If editing an existing rom file these things will be set anyway.

If you haven't made the parameter file change to enable the CWM launch keys, you can still get to the CWM Recovery menu by using Titanium Backup's "Reboot" widget or the "Reboot to Recovery" Rom Manager option.

I knew about the combination key thing from the slatedroid post but was afraid to put it in. On my Arnova when I did that I could not longer get into flash mode. I hade to recover with ADB. Let me tell you it scared the hell out of me as I thought I perma bricked! SO when working with Daman, I told him about that and we did not want to risk it.

Now that I know I will update the ROM with it! THANKS!

                  Flash Player working?

I know that Adobe flashplayer doesn't support Chrome or Jelly Bean, but it is still prevalent on the web. On my Razr running 4.0.4, I just installed Adobe Flashplayer 11.1 and when I go to "Adobe.com/software/flash/about" it shows that I am running that version. But when I do the same with the Cube running IceCube (Finless ICS) and stock browser, the Adobe site just shows a place holder, as if flashplayer is not installed. Anyone get Flash to work? I know YouTube works, but I assume they use html 5 for Android.

I have the latest flash installed from the Playstore but as you will no it is a bit hit and miss. The BBC iPlayer shows it as installed but plays video but buffers all the time.

OPERA or Boat browser works for me on most sites but unless there is a specific fix for flash on Ics on a rockchip 2918 than it is as it is.

I have flash anyway and the sooner it has gone and replaced with html 5 the better

                      Evolution rom restore didn't work

I ran a test to see if a user running another rom could flash the IceCube CWM, back up his rom with IceCube CWM, flash the IceCube rom, then restore the original rom. It didn't work. After backing up the Evolution rom with the IceCube CWM, when I try a full restore of Evolution it starts with

                      "Erasing boot before restore..."
                      "Restoring boot image..."

then goes back to the main CWM menu and wouldn't boot until I did a full restore of IceCube.

I flashed the IceCube CWM only using the edited IceCube parameter file and recovery image. Maybe there is something wrong with the test procedure I used?

I also tested using both the IceCube ext4 CWM and my old Cube U9GT2 ext3 CWM. I created zip files for both and copied them to the memory card. I used the Cube ext3 CWM when creating the Evolution backup and when restoring the Evolution backup. That seemed to work ok, except for the old problem of not being able to get rid of the previous rom's boot image.

Now I'm in the new rom. Works fine so fare. No problems with the installation on easypad970.
So fare, I found no issues, but I need some time for checking the details.
First impression: the fastest ics for my pad. Gingercomb is a bit faster.

Congratulations to finless bob and Damo.

I want to mention that the range of the ICS rom is stronger than in the gingercomb rom, in case someone had the same problem as I.

I don't know why, but it feels like a good message.
