Don't know if it was the reason for 3g is working for me, but I'm using a oc kernel with the boot.img. 3g was working good with the last version 1.8. Can't help more :-(

Thank if 1.8 is working it maybe something that was changed in the ROM

has any one got a link to the orignal firmware this is based on so I can test out the 3g

The main difference between 1.8 and 1.9 was that this newer version was based on official factory firmware. 1.8 was adapted from a ROM created by Chinese developer Edge Xuan (many thanks to him) from the exact same factory firmware. If 3G works on 1.8 and doesn't on 1.9...it's possible that Edge Xuan added something that I missed.

I just tried 1.8 with no luck could it be possible to be more than one type of modem for the tablet or a sim compatibility issue with 4g network

I have 3G version and its working fine. Without 3G
Missing the unstable Android 4.4 3G drivers makes this better.

Hi, I'm trying to get 3G with external usb modem on my wifi only tablet

I turn off wifi, reboot.

Check data enabled and data roaming.

But when I try to search for network operators, I 'm getting error while searching operator.

And when I go to Access Point Names, I get none and can't save a new one

I'm just testing this functionality, maybe something is missing too

My tablet has internal 3G and that's what troubling me that I cannot get 3G working. This I have asked OP. Now hopefully, he will do comeback with some solution.

I think it could be something to do with the bootloader I have tried v2.13 and I can get a connection for about a minute every so often, so I am going to try some different second gen bootloaders tonight if I get time

Can you guide me more about bootloaders? Which version and where should I get different bootloaders to test?

Be very careful you could brick your tablet if you flash the wrong bootloader so if you don't know what you are doing please leave it for some else to try and wait for results

I used RK3188Loader(L)_V2.13.bin and the current rom is using RK3188Loader(L)_V2.10.bin

The thing that we must understand that why someone with the same Rom have a menu that we don't have !

I don't think it's due to bootloader.
