    Multi Users

    Hi,

If someone want multi users, there is a patch to install via TWRP, it's compatible with version 1.8 to 1.9

MEGA provides free cloud storage with convenient and powerful always-on privacy. Claim your free 50GB now!

This patch will patch the framework.jar file.

The max number of users is defined in the build.prop, actually it is set to 4.

I have tested on mine, it's working !

In case of problem, reflash via TWRP the following file to restore original file :

      Thanks for that, stevejc!!!!!!

Is it device specific, or can this work on other KK ROM's?

If so...it's worth it's own sticky thread in the main Pipo section!!!!!!!

Sadly, it is just for M8HD and this version of firmware (1.8 and 1.9)

I have patched Framework.jar as described in Arctablet forum :

        ie : change ro.factory.hasUMS by ro.factory.ha__MS in UserManager.smali after decompiled Framework.jar

Thanks....I tried that a while back...but couldn't find the exact items to change in the ROM I was working on.

Since then, I've just recommended the Xposed Framework version, which I tested.

          I don't use multi-user, myself.

So I think I completely f##ked up my tablet... I was wiping it in hopes to get the location services running again and when it restarts it stays on the screen with the RileyRom badge. Another thing... my menu and escape keys are broken... am I f##ked?

By wiping, do you mean with recovery? TWRP?

If so, I would suggest doing a re-flash of the ROM. Be sure to erase IDB.

BTW, please no F Bombs. This is a family site.

oops my bad. Yes I used the TWRP to wipe how would I do a re-flashing or the ROM? When I connect my tablet to the computer it doesn't seem to pick it up and I'm guessing it does this because it's on the RileyRom screen. Am I right?

Take a paper clip and press the reset button (it's a hole on the back of the tablet). That will power off the tablet.

I'm pretty sure you hold vol+ (or esc, if no volume buttons) and press power. The flash tool should then recognize your tablet in Loader Mode (which is flash mode). Erase IDB and then flash the ROM.

Well you know funny thing... the volume key broke. I don't know how but yeah it broke. Is there no other way?

Is there an esc key on that tablet? That may be it.

Looks like, you will need to open the case and try to make that volume key work.

After you press the reset button, try to boot again and see if it boots before you get too carried away.

Re: Pipo M8HD RileyROM 1.9 KitKat

Has anyone configured the tablet to turn off wifi during sleep? Apparently, it is not working with this release. It was working fine with 1.6 / 1.7.

Sorry to bother, but... speaking about sleeping and so on... does the M8HD turn off when charging, or still remains on?
