Actually I have to give kudos to Pipo for the repair of my M8 Pro (the one I got back). It was returned ..fixed properly. The back creaked a bit more, but it functioned OK.

My main problem is the mail back to China. Two times, as I mentioned the returned tablet was stolen or lost entirely. That is not the vendor nor the manufactuers fault.

As far as Pipo's overall quality, though ...with my limited exposure to my S1 and the M8 Pro, I have to agree. Cube is so far above what I have experienced with Pipo it's uncanny.

Hopefully Pipo will ...may have already become a much better tablet since I bought my M8 Pro.

    For US Buyers:
I have mentioned before, and I mention again for someone who might just light upon this snippit. If you buy from Chaina, and you live in the states ...I suggest you buy from a store that offers some sort of return / repair option to an address in the US.
The two I have found so far are Geekbuying & Merrimobiles.

I am probably missing something here, but that looks to be a 9X rom. I have the T9.

If you can find the stock firmware for it, I can see what I can do.

Sigh, the Chinese tablet woes continue...

Sent back the fourth and final P9 (avoid **** seller smart-accessories-uk would be my advice for starters), and thought I'd try a barely-used Cube Talk 9X, especially as the seller had excellent feedback and assured me there were no dead pixels, and no dust between the screen and digitiser, etc.

I have to wonder what's wrong with these people's eyesight, as there's yet another bit of dust between the screen and digitiser. While the overall build of the Cube seems to be quite a lot better than the Pipo, there are clearly still quality-control problems. Not sure whether I'll send it back or try and get a discount, but one way or another, no more off-brand Chinese tablets for me!

Did you remove ALL screen protectors?
Mine is absolutely perfect on every aspect...NEVER read before about dust under the glass of th cube talk 9x, and I have had the possibility to read talk 9x experieces of really many users....

                    Hi, giouncino.

There were no screen protectors applied when the tablet arrived. I cleaned the whole screen very carefully with a camera lens cloth before checking it, then cleaned the area where the dust was again before finally concluding there's something underneath the touch screen. I can tell it's below the touch screen when viewing the screen from different angles as well - the problem is definitely not on top.

I asked the seller for a discount, and he's offered £15, which I might accept (assuming everything else works 100%), as otherwise, my experience with Pipo and Cube will have been a total waste of time, and frankly, I could do with a working tablet, not more wasted time.

It does make me wonder how some sellers can get 100% feedback, when the service they've offered me has been really quite bad, but that's ****'s fault, not Pipo's or Cube's :-)

Anyway, if I upgrade in a couple of years and buy another tablet after all this hassle, it will have to be a big-name brand - I definitely won't be touching lesser-known brands' tablets again. I suspect the best way to do it will be to buy from a used-electronics shop we have here in the UK, called CEX (Computer EXchange). That way, I can check for dead pixels and dust under the digitiser before I hand over my money.

It gets better :-) The screen seems to go to sleep almost at random. Despite the fact that I've set the display to sleep after 5 mins, it will still go to sleep at varying times, including when I'm actually using the tablet. It's going back!

this is due to the cover: magnet on the cover is too strong and when you fold on the back of the tablet it put in sleep mode your device.
It's a common problem on some bad quality covers!

You come to conclusions too early!
Good luck with "bigger brands", they are even worse!!!!

                          Hi, giouncino.

I haven't mentioned this to the seller yet, so that's not a problem, but the cover itself appears to be non-magnetic - the back of the cover is quite clear plastic, and the part which covers the screen doesn't seem to have any magnets in it either, as far as I can see. Certainly, the cover does not stay closed when I turn the tablet over - it just falls open. When I roll the cover into a triangle to form a small stand, I can't feel any magnetic attraction between the strips in the cover either. Am I missing the magnet(s)?

                          Thanks, Jon.

try to use the tablet without the cover. I'm sure it will not switch off.

The magnet is on the bottom of the cover (opposite part of the front camera side)

My woes with Pipo continue. The couple of months old P9 died during weekend, and will not charge or start. I've tried the power+esc and reset buttons but no luck. Fortunately I bought it from a local reseller, hopefully they will fix it under warranty...
