that the reason why I only want to buy within EU, specially in Portugal or Spain.
Pipo not only can be found in many shops across spain, but they also have an official distribuitor (https://www.pipospain.es/)
No customs and taxes, 24 month warranty and easy access to support/assistance.

      but which kind of assistence????

It's not only a matter of assistence though, but overall build quality and stability in my opinion...

Pipo DOES offer a very solid product...with a few exceptions. Sometimes they let a substandard unit leave their factory which ends up being sent back for repairs.

I can't speak for the quality of their repair crew...it sounds like they must be outsourcing the work to someone else, who doesn't take much care in their work.

I have the pleasure of owning 7 Pipo tablets...and every single one of them still functions as well as it did when it was new.

My current go to tablet is my P9 (which this thread was originally intended to be discussed ).

If you like the 10.1" format, the P9 is what I recommend. They've come a long way since they first introduced the M9 Max.

If you prefer a 9.7" tablet...there are a whole lot of options to explore, other than the P1. While I do enjoy my Pipo P1...The Onda V989 is also a good choice...with an Allwinner chip. I'm still learning the in's and out's of Allwinner, though.

          Pipo P9 Testing/Review

Regarding assistance, for example I killed my tablet when I tried to install kitkat rom. Also my ESC key is damaged. I was able to ship it back to where I bought it, Spain (I'm from Portugal) to see if they could help. Ship to China would be out of the question.

I think my decision is made, I will bet on the Pipo P9 if the situation doesn't change after xmas and new years.
I think, this is the 10.1" tablet out there, specs/price wise

            Leave Onda alone...
this is another brand with awful unstable firmwares.

Again, I've seen too many problems on Pipo devices that I CANNOT recommend them. Probably the only exception could be the P9 so far.

They seems not having a reliable quality control system.

More than that they do not learn from their errors, all what went wrong with m6pro they EXACTLY put into Pipo P1 (speakers loudness problme is a CLEAR example but there are MANY others).

Randy, you generally are from Pipo side, but keep in mind that we're paying for our tablets and we would like to CONTINUOSLY use them, with pipo, every now and then there is a new FW release and every time you flash it you lose all data and need to restore it again and again with TB...

With many Pipo devices you flash a firmware without almost ANY visible difference wrt the previous one and WASTE a lot of time following a dream of stability and performance that WHEN I PAY FOR A TABLET I PRETEND THEM OUT OF THE BOX!!!

            Djuganight good luck!

With this polemic I finish my thoughts about Pipo.

Fully agree with all you have said.
Android FW from Pipo isn't that good and keep launching tablets with the same buggy FW and complete horrible launcher.
The launcher is interchangeable gladly, but the FW I hope that in P sites it's improved. Well, 4.4 it's already a major improvement from 4.2. I hope they didn't mess it when compiling they FW version

All of the RK3288 Pipo firmware I've seen (and I've seen them all) are very bare bones Android. They use the KitKat launcher...adding a bunch of unnecessary widgets, still very much stock (No more Windows 8 look alike s). There's very little bloatware added.

The P9 firmware is very stable. Mine has no problems running my 1.8 ROM, but some feel that 1.6 works better for them. They've re-introduced multi-window, although I haven't played with it.

Battery consumption is very good...which was the biggest complaint about the RK3188 tablets. They did pretty much fix the deep sleep problems.

Of coarse, results may vary from tablet to tablet.

The P8's and P4's have a few issues with wifi and GPS...but are otherwise stable.

As far as I've read Pipo P9 is the best product from Pipo so far...

But I didn't have the possibility to test it though

Is HDMI output unencrypted? I'm considering buying an ElGato Capture device.

After some days using it, some thoughts...

                      - Wifi is far better than M9 Pro one and M8 HD one. Can connect to wifi's in places were the others can't. Wifi disconnection on wakeup, firmware related, pisses me off.

                      - Screen not as responsive as those of the aforementioned tablets. Sometimes, doesn't detect de tap. I need to tap harder.

                      - GPS did first time fix in 50 seconds. Impressive. With M9 Pro I needed to do lot of things and install different apps to get first time fix.

                      - Great performance. App loading really fast. Commuting between opened apps is really fluid.

                      - Screen outdoors on a clear day is fairly visible. Don't know if it's screen protector or the screen what reflects like a mirror. With brightness at the maximum level, there's no problem of visibility.

                      I'll keep informing...

Now, talking seriously, and also coming from a M9 Pro, P9 it's really fast.

Only issue for me, wifi not waking up after deep sleep on 1.8
