I'm talking about the AndroidTool.exe in the root folder of the RileyROM kit.

        Open the tool.

The second line from the top on the list of files to flash is the parameter file. The file name changed with this release. Follow this line all the way to the right, and click on the small box. You will get a file browse window. Browse to the RileyROM folder and pick the parameter.txt file you want to flash. The number indicates the gb you want the user app space to be. parameter.txt is 4gb, parameter6.txt is 6gb...etc.

Once you have selected the appropriate parameter file, with the tablet turned on and the USB connected, click the switch button. This will reboot your tablet into flash mode (the screen will go black).

Now click Lowerformat and let it go to 100%,

Now click Run (which will flash the ROM).

The tablet will first boot to stock recovery and format the partitions...when it's done it will boot to the system.

Let the system run for a few minutes. You can set up your wifi and Gmail account while you are waiting.

If you want to flash the optional TWRP recovery, reconnect your tablet via USB (if it's still not already connected).

In the AndroidTool, uncheck all of the boxes on the left column of the list of files.

Check only item #7, recovery. Click on the browse button (like you did for the parameter) and browse the RileyROM folder for the file named TWRP_PiPO_P1.img and select it.

        Click the switch button.

This time don't click the LowerFormat button.

        Click Run.

This will flash TWRP recovery to your tablet. It will be very quick.

Your tablet will reboot to the system.

Any time you want to run TWRP, just use the Reboot app to reboot to recovery.

OK, sorry...I was using the P1 ROM as an example, not the P4...but it's the same process...the TWRP just has a different file name. For the P4 ROM, the default parameter is 2gb...then it goes up from there.

            Good luck!!!!!!!

                Just flash it last night.
Everything seems normal and smooth until now.
                Thanks for your hardwork

I have been running for roughly a day now, during flash and restoring I was connected to the charger and when all was done I disconnected at 76% and stored the tablet in my bag, at 19:00 I checked and I was still at 76%.

Very happy with this improvement. I am still fighting with Google Now launcher, on 1.6 it didn't work but at some point I had found my P4 was off, I turned it on again and then Google Now Launcher worked. On 1.7 I still can't start Google Now Launcher and I can't recreate the fix.
