I think they were from an XDA developer link. I can mail them to you if you want to try the same setup?

I've discovered in the last couple of weeks that this works on my Bravia. Must be something to do with the output resolution or HDMI. Anyway, works for me. I used to reboot too, don't have to now.
Edit: just saw you don't have an M8. Worth a try anyway I guess.

If the lights are at the top then you unfortunately have one. There are a lot of differences between this model and MX2 clones (rev2.22 i believe) and the most pertinent one is that the power function is controlled by the software, not the hardware. It also seems that they don't support linux kernals higher than 3.0 so OE 4.2.1 is the latest you are able to load with codesnake's releases. OE seems to run okay on these but the splash screens are not usually the correct resolutions and they take longer to boot.
I seem to own a newer rev. box.
Am gonna try and find a box with the older board. Really hard to know what's what with these mx boxes..

Glad to hear it.
Tried it didn't work, kept freezing.

DVB support
Hi guys, happy new year !
I'm actually interesting in getting a amlogic device since it look like it have a great openelec support thanks to Codesnake.
Many thanks for that great work !
I'm especially interested in DVB-S2 support, but for now I cannot afford a Weetek device so I'm looking on cheaper options.
As I'm living in China, I lookes on taobao, where we can get AML8726-MX / dvb-s2 boxes for about 55$ :
vs-ip166 (here), Vigica c60s (here) or Smart box HD18S (here).
I wonder to know current status about Openelec port for those boxes. I've found that a russian speaker named Vitaly_S have build some images for G18REF/DVB-S2 boxes (see on xbmc.ru) and also for HD18S (see on 4PDA).
These information are also mentioned on TVHeadend forum.
As both of these forums (xbmc.ru & 4PDA) are russian speaking (and I'm not), I wonder if some of you guys could get in touch with Vitaly_S to see what are the patches to apply to Codesnake's upstream.
Maybe Razdolbaev (Kerber) would be the one as it already made great builds for the community ?
Finally, maybe we could know which one of the boxes above (vs-ip166, Vigica CS60 or HD18S) would have the best support ?
More generally, I also would like to know about your experience with AML8726-MX boxes :
Are they powerfull enought for a Openelec/Kodi/pvr usage or would it be better to go with AML8xx boxes+ usb dvb-s2 reciever or wait a bit for new devices coming out ?
Thanks for your help !Cyxtech RK3188 box (cyx_cs918 v2_1) with last sock firmware and SPMC
-> It finally works like a charm !

I have tested Vitaly_S SDcard 1.2 version on a Xoro HST 550S, and I can say it's working but there are stability issues. With HDMI it will only work for 1 hour, with cvbs it much more stable, DVB-S2 transponders are not working (instead it finds DVB-S channels that are on other transponders) with TVheadend. Oscam/tvheadend decryption works.
Maybe the drivers work better on vigica and hd18s2 but I don't have those to test.
Also I think Vitaly_S is intressted in newer s805/s812 DVB-S2 boxes, so when they come on market I think his focus will shift from M6/MX, just my theory.
