I selected everything except the settings related to phone/mobile data. I feel that my screen is more responsive to touch is typing is 100% successful with no dropped letters. Antutu benchmark increased from 7300 to 7634 and the rest is possibly placebo? Other than these improvements it hasn't made things worse though, as I type this, I notice my WiFi signal is weaker in a room that normally has full strength. I'll reapply the WiFi fix and see if that fixes it.

Edit: WiFi signal full again after reapplying fix so Pimp My ROM decreased my WiFi performance

Antutu probably increased due to the gpu hack, as a quad core gpu would be better at processing 2d operations then the cpu, the sqlite hack is interesting, that should increase the database io score.

Lots of other things wont work as we have vsync enabled on the kernel, and a lot of the build.props dont do much, but im sure there are a few that do quiet a bit

Could you do a comparison, of what increases before and after you install pimp my rom on the cube, if you have time, please =)

Also can you please link me to the wifi fix and the other fixes you mentioned ?

p.s im just guessing, but pimp my rom probably overwrote something that the wifi fix does in either build.prop or init.d folder

I have just spent a frustrating 90mins with no result...
using that guide I mentioned

I CANT get the laptop to recognise an unknown device ..ie the Tablet

We(its a friends tablet) connect the tablet with a usb cable..to a laptop with Windows 7
(it shows up 2 USB storage devices..in Windows device manager)

and he then tries to send it into flash mode
by hitting the Volume + button and then the power button...
eventually after trying to get it to work..the screen goes black
and it goes bong in windows...

BUT all that has happened is the 2 USB devices disappear out of
Windows device manager!!
So either we have powered the tablet down..
and thats why the 2 USB storage devices have disppeared
..or it has gone into Flash mode...

But it doesnt show/detect an unknown device in windows...
so I cant install the 64bit windows drivers(his laptop uses win x64)

So no going into the Rockchip tool to be able to delete rom
and then flash the shiney new ROM!
This has me stumped!

You can send it into flash mode using rockchip flaher when the tablet is recognised properly, that should work

No because ..in the ROM flash Tool
it shows
"No Found RKAndroid rock usb"

and there is no unknown device showing up..in windows device manager

so somehow we cant get the Tablet into flash mode!!

Start with the tab off and connected to pc via usb. You must not be charging the tab

Press and hold vol +
Press power for 3 seconds
Release vol +

You should be in flash mode.

We tried it with and without the power connected...
although we did it by releasing the power button...not the vol +
so thats something new...hopefully this helps

I got the attached JB4.1 WiFi Fix from XDA Nexus forum and removed the mms fix that was included. It now only patches WiFi and BT fixes from http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...mp;postcount=1 . It definitely improves my WiFi stability and I'm sure it isn't placebo... as much as I agree with Brian!

You flash both through CWM.

Well back on track to the 1.1 discussion, my pad should be here shortly, but yes im interested in knowing if the 1.16 bootloader and 1.7 kernel break the use of the cwm recovery in this rom, as apparently it breaks the recovery 4.0 from tab_modders rom in flashmyandroid.
