wont start on 1080/60 but keeps returning to 720 after a reboot.

So far, I'm happy with the stock rom, just for video streaming.
I've learned that there's no such perfect rom,it depends only on what you want to do with it. If you can do everything you want , that would be perfect rom!!!

Each to his or her own: for me, an acceptable rom on this box would rival the "video fluency" (read: no micro-stutter) of the Minix Neo 8 or the humble M8 running OpenElec. Till then, I'll keep hoping...and searching.

True , when I read the spec of this Draco, my expectations were too high and I was quite disappointed until I accept its limits and hope that will get better with next updates !!

No device ever matures in the right direction without informed user feedback. The Minix Neo 8, for example, went through 9 betas over 7 months, a refinement largely driven by critical comments from hundreds of users.

That's what this is about, nothing more - or less.

Sorry bro but We have to communicate the deficiencies, if not how can be improved the FW?.
Unfortunately the FW installed on the Draco AW80 so far it´s very poorly worked from Tronsmart developers, the first shipped with the Meta version with mistakes like DPI set to 160 for this Box, not power icon on the system bar, not been able to use "live wallpapers", read/write eMMC are not good on this FW, etc; the Telos version shipped a month+ after the Meta using the same FW only had changed the "date", and set the DPI to 240 and include the power & screen shot icon on the navigation bar. On both the "screen scale" it´s quite basic, not as functional as the used for the RK3288 where each side of the screen can be adjusted; there is not any OTG port marked on the device to work as OTG, however it´s supossed to be the USB 3.0. There are a lot of small details that make very easy to declare the FW as very poor, not only the required improvement of the Playback capabilities; the FW need to be improved soon, I mean the original 4.4.2. The others promises from tronsmart (& Geekbuying) regarding to Lollipop and Linux/Ubuntu hopefully will arrive sooner than late, but a better/improved 4.4.2 FW it´s a real need just now.
As a side note I can say that read/write eMMC speed on Telos version is much better than on Meta version; I don´t know if the 4Gb ram help to reach that or this version has different eMMC modules, much faster, or it´s a change on the FW.

Change System Font on Fantasy Rom

This is only worth doing if you like this rom and plan to use it for a while. I do like it, despite its few quirks: it has better performance than any other I've used so far. So this change was important for me.

This is the result I was able to obtain by replacing two key system fonts:





To achieve that, I re-named two Roboto.ttf fonts (TrueType) to exactly duplicate the names of the two system fonts on this rom (DroidSans and DroidSans-Bold) which spoil its appearance. I then copied the two fonts into the System/Fonts folder, overwriting the originals. I confirmed that the permissions of the two new fonts were rw-r-r. I rebooted, and there was the change I badly wanted.

NOTES:

a) immediately after I replaced the two fonts, some on-screen letters looked strange. But after rebooting, all was good.

b) there's a one-time penalty: after the new, cleaner fonts are installed some Android applications (e.g Superuser; YouTube) and some text-heavy XBMC add-ons (e.g. YouTube/Mashup/and others will seem to freeze when first opened. They are not frozen but converting their internal fonts into the new ones). Give them two-three minutes and they will open, with a new and cleaner typeface. After that initial penalty, no further "freezes" or delays.

For those who want to make the switch (with these notes in mind), you can get the two new fonts here:

Unzip them somewhere you can find them easily with ES File from your Draco. (They have already been correctly re-named). Go to Root/System/Fonts. Then copy the new fonts into that folder, overwriting when asked. Check their permissions are rw-r-r. Reboot, and you're done.

Dolphin Browser crashes on me when attempting to connect to web site..using the latest version....

Yep, same issue here with MengFan-A80-4.4-6335-20141211v1 ROM.

I cleared dolphin's data/cache, then uninstalled and reinstalled Dolphin, but it crashes just as the page is about to load.

BBC iPlayer opens but you cannot play any content.

Play Music skips the first track after a few seconds then gets stuck trying to play the second track. This happens with ALL of my uploaded albums... which all work fine on my Note 4...

Dolphin 10.3

Will run on this rom.

Personally, I prefer the stock browser or Chrome, but 10.3 does work. Google is your friend.
