New Tronsmart?

How strange is this? I saw and downloaded today a newer CX rom from Pan Baidu (timestamp: December 6).

When installed, it seems to be from Tronsmart...dated December 5.



I've uploaded the rom to my Mega account (link below); Bob, perhaps you should look at it before investing any effort in other firmware.

Update: after running it for an hour on the same 1080p test files used on the CX/RKM roms, I find it at least as smooth and quick. It just might be the best so far.

but you can stop trying this or that. i still working hard to collect as much as information i can in the android OS.

and submit to them for a new android OS.

in the second bulk tronsmart draco aw80, i have asked them to flash a "new" firmware, however, that just change the DPI and add the hide status bar function. i don't think that is a so-called" new firmware", so i don't release to you guys.

so my suggest is waiting for my update on blog.geekbuying.com or www.tronsmart.com for the new firmware.

now we are still working on it.

also update the Linux (ubuntu firmware) , the working firmware with hardware accelerate should delay to the end of this month( before i talk at the middle of Dec). but now it's delayed, because they are working on the video decode.

and Android TV firmware should be released in 2015, google and allwinner should have some talk for Release android TV os in china products , but for me, i already see the demo. it's really really cool!!!

I Promise you guys, you will get the Android TV os in the Draco AW80. i saw that!!!

Eric, please can you take note of the problem about the uncomplete "turn off" or "reboot" on the current FW of Draco AW80 to get fixed for the upcoming official FW update, please; this is avoiding that "No Frills-CPU" app can not be automatically launched after every system re-start, making neccesary to run the app manually; the situation is not fixable with third party apps, the fix must be implemented in the system itself as @petrus mention it on the link below:

You can earnestly collect all the data in the world - but if the developers are out of their depth, or struggling without the cooperation of Allwinner, Imagination and XBMC, we're going to see the same tired generic rom swapped between factories the next time too.

It's absurd that three different manufacturers are pumping out a "new" rom every day without making any meaningful advances. This is what "spinning your wheels" looks like.

My Draco is going to the back of the cupboard until you tell me the Linux rom is ready (and good)!

Do any of these roms keep display refresh rate after reboot?
wont start on 1080/60 but keeps returning to 720 after a reboot.

Aye, fair comment. I was more than a little testy after my unsatisfactory rom tasting binge...

In any case, there's a better place for my AW80. If I slip it under my monitor, it brings it to just the right height..

@MAS, I haven't noticed that issue. The box rebooted to 1080p with all the roms. Check your HDMI cable.

Another One

The firmware for this one is up on Pan Baidu: it's labeled "MengFan A80" and it's an IMG.

It installs fine on the Draco and feels snappy. System font is not pretty, but improves with DPI change.
