I went all the way to the end of this thread hoping someone had unlocked the secret but to no avail. I've got a MK908II that won't go into recovery mode. I was able to do the pin 8/9 thing and it comes up in MaskRom mode. I've tried every port on the PC and 3 different cables. I'm still unable to erase the NAND and get the same error everyone else does.
*sigh*
Just wanted to post my results as well.

CYX_809III-V5_0-20140510
Hi,
We are trying to put some weird clone of CX919 into flashing mode.
The full discussion is here:
The NAND chip datasheet is here:
Access 900,000+ datasheets for electronic components. Find and download PDF datasheets for semiconductors, diodes, transistors, and more.
Can someone help us please with the right combination of pins?
Thanks.

Thank you, this worked.
Finless (Bob),
Thank you, this worked.
Briefly shorting pins 8 (RE#: Read enable) and 9 (CE#: Chip Enable) on my SPECTEK PFB15 8GB NAND chip while connecting the OTG port allowed MaskROM Mode so I was able to clear the IDB and flash a working firmware. Phew!
Thanks again.
p.s. I used this Micron NAND Specification document for reference, since I couldn't find one for SPECTEK.

My MK908II - boot loop / recovery
Hello everyone
First I want to thank all of you for maintaining this site as one of the best when it comes to android smart devices.
My problem is as follows.
I have MK908/2 Rockchip3188
I wanted to update the kernel from 720p to 1080p. Something went wrong and now I can not flash any of firmvire because it is stuck in a bootloop. Every time I flash the firmware it says success, everything went well.
Then I connect my MK908/2 on my TV and stuck in bootloop recovery says something about device not found format data format cache rebooting.
Please help.

Unbricked android - but doesnt boot properly
What an awesome site! While trying to upgrade my MK808B with the Finless ROM it bricked. Not sure why, mainly because I'm not very technically savvy. But that said, I used the method described in this thread and got it reset and was able to flash the rom, however, on reboot all I get is two penguins on the screen for a couple of minutes. Any suggestions on where to go next would be very appreciated. Thank you!!!

Need help No drivers installed
Hi everyone ! I don't have drivers loaded on my PC so I can't connect my MK808b to it. As far as I understand to install drivers one need to connect the device in flash mode first, but mine is bricked... Is there any other way to install the driver on PC without using flash mode ? Thanks forward for any reply. )
I got MK808b bricked while trying to flash it with one of ROMs when the electricity in my house went down so I must be the lucky dog ) When trying to connect it to my PC nothing happens, even the blue light does not turn on. I have tried to get it into mask mode some time before but either I did something wrong or NAND is dead. Now I have a new PC and wanna give it a last try before I buy a new device.
