wifi is totally fixed with an antenna upgrade you don't even need to use a good antenna to do it a peace of wire will do the trick, its very easy to fix takes about 20 minutes depending on how tidy you want it.
ive had this running 12 hours now at 65mb no drops on 1.5a rom.
the stock antenna is a load of rubbish even unsoldering were i marked could improve the signal, better to remove the thing all together and place a simple wire on the ant pad.

Hey, what would I buy if I wanted to improve the antenna, but want to keep it internal?

How to open up the mk808

Hi all!

maybe a stupid question but anyway: how do I open up the MK808 if I want to check / fix the antenna?
I see no screews or other locks to get it open.

you basically spread the upper and lower cover apart with a screwdriver. Worked good when I had to unbrick my MK808

WiFi really stable and it is fast!

Thanks. It is exactly what was in my case. Signal and GND were soldered together. Hope WiFi will work better now.

I suppose your WiFi did not work at all before unsoldering GND. Or was it you had 65Mbps to 5MBps dropdowns as everybody else is having?

you dont need to buy any thing just the correct length of wire soldered only to the ant pad would do, over at armtvtech a guy got the correct measurements.
Dont attempt this unless your confident with a solder iron and understand what your doing my first mistake was to solder on the cables around the wrong way.
Some people say just removing the short circuit (probably the reason some have working wifi and some dont) helps and one guy just unsoldered the gnd and left it off the pad with instant results.
Funny thing is im sure geekbuying read there pms and this forum this problem is all over the two main forums and have said nothing about it maby they could contact the factory and ask them to show the 14 year old kids how to solder?

I'm just curious... how can I turn back on my MK808 after a Software Turn Off? (blue led stills on but there's no video signal)

What I've doing is to unplug the USB charger and the USB Hub and reconnect it.

MK808 has two antennas and I believe grounded was transmit antenna because signal level was always 100%.
But getting connection sometimes took 1-2 minutes with errors on different stages of connection: Authentication, association, obtaining IP... Even after it connect it was taking some time to have internet connection (up to 5 mins) while WiFi bars were grey without internet.
Now I do not see issue.
I have not done any testing except just use it for streaming .

Bought Droidmote server last night, and install Droidmote client on my Chinese dual-sim ICS phone. Working like a charm.

Just input ip address of your MK808 in the Droidmote client, and press Connect.
