So I am going to go back using it and since it's rooted, I'll do a Titanium backup/restore once the new roms come out.
Big thanks. Keep up the good work.
ps I can't help but wonder though, what drove the decision to release a 1Ghz version, since 1.6Ghz is perfectly within RK3066's specs.

Has anyone used Bubble uPnP. I use this to stream files from my android phone and tablet to the mk808, similar to apple airplay.
The files stream to the mk808 with no problems, but as soon as its done, it reboots the MK808. Not just the app, but the entire device.
Anyone know of a workaround or a fix? I have tried multiple file types, and every file is the same.

I Hope Someone can help!
I finally got the firmware updated yesterday after receiving the MK808 and finding it had a number of issues that are well documenterd in this thread. I decided to try to root and put 1.5A on and see if it would improve what I have.
I tried both debug mode on and off and under USB I only have one option, "Connect to PC" that I tried both ways.
When I reset the unit and I get the connect I see “Class for rockusb devices” with “RK30 Device” listed in the device manager.. I've seen somewhere in my readings that the device should be RK30STK but I don't know what's right. I also haven't seen anyone else with that classification in the device manager.
When I execute the ROM flash tool, it shows it “Found RKAndroid Loader Rock Usb” at the bottom of the screen.
When I “ reboot to Flash Mode” I get the message, “Device cannot do flash mode, because it is not msc device”.
The day's getting late and my patience is waning. Can anybody get me headed in the right direction. I'm not sure if I don't have one of the settings right on the MK or I fouled something up with the drivers.
Much thanks.

I am using Pixel Media Server at my Samsung Tab2 as a Media Server and playing back my mobile media contents at my MK808 with Pixel Media Controller app (this app supports third party local player which support HTTP Streaming, such as VLC). Till now everything smooth and pleasant experience.

When I look at the ROM Flash Tool and read the readme, there is a difference. RMT says it should say “Found RKAndroid Loader Rock Usb” where the instructions say "Found RKAndroid Mass Storage USB" . Since I'm getting the message that it can't go into flash mode because “Device cannot do flash mode, because it is not msc device”, I'm assuming it doesn't see the MK as such.
The only thing that I did in settings on the MK before attaching is made sure that debugging was unchecked (OFF). I went under USB and there was only one option "Attach to PC" as opposed to the instructions where it told me to make sure that "USB storage is turned off". This may be what I'm missing since I don't see anywhere to turn off mass storage.
I think I'm close but missing something. Appreciate the help.

Originally posted by rothenbj View PostI'm following the README FIRST.txrt file that was extracted. If there is a readme that I'm missing showing an erase, that may be the problem. Oh, I have tried attaching the MK via USB with and without pushing the reset button. I hear the PC acknowledge the MK and see it's attached by a small icon at the bottom of the screen.

Thank you Bob!
I'm so glad I didn't give up on the MK808 when I first got it. The stock firmware improved it, but video was totally unacceptable.. Finless 1.5a has gotten me to almost what I was hoping for when I bought it. I'm not sue if it's just the antenna issue now or something else that causes buffering occasionally and blurring, but it's acceptable. Losing WIFI has dropped off tremendously. I find it hard to believe they could market this device that works so poorly out of the box.

New version of MK808
Just a head's up there's a new mk808 out, see ROCKCHIP's number and pay attention to antenna, now has spring retract contacts for the NAND side wifi antenna..
Anyways, I tried to flash finless last night, now I get no light, no popping up on the computer when I attempt to plug it in to the OTG port... Still working on it, but may have bricked it.
Tried the bridging of pins 8 & 9 on the NAND and still nada (Per http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...hlight=unbrick)
