This link is about TWRP and i understand that is next step after re flashing rom. But you advice those files in re-flash rom how to, that was what confuse me...

Yes, that's it.
Flash ROM/update OTA and after that just flash TWRP.
Right now I'm looking at one more thing..seems like these updates OTA will patch stock recovery too.
At least that's what V1.07 has done.
I'm a little bit curious how things will be in the future, with next OTA update.

You don't trust us?
TWRP is in english and works.
Excuse me if you feel insulted in any way through this post.
You have any response from these spanish developers regardind TWRP for your T98?
You should try this ...It could work for you too.
Sorry, It was my fault ...I overlooked some important information, as the one you previously quoted . I apologize for it, right here, right now.
Of course I trust on you and others who post here. We are here to share and to learn , and we all know it.

I'm very happy seeing Cube T9 scene stepping forward, ..is a very good tablet that deserves it,...and also, being so similar to T98, perhaps some of it can be useful for it.

No news for the Teclast T98 recovery I'm afraid...

I think I'll give a try to this TWRP, and if is doesn't work, changing the embedded kernel will be my next step...

1. Download TWRP_Recovery+CUBE-T9.rar in your PC link
2. Extract archive and you'll see MT6752_Android_scatter.txt and recovery.img files.
3. Power off tablet.
4. Open SP Flash Tool v5.1452.00 from my Google Drive link or any version of SP Flash Tool included in previous T9 ROM's V1.02 or V1.04.
5. Go to Scatter-Loading and browse for MT6752_Android_scatter.txt
6. All boxes must be unchecked, except recovery
7. Select Download only mode or Firmware Upgrade mode.
8. Click on Download.
9. With tablet powered off connect USB cable(do not use USB 3.0 port, only USB 2.0 ports are compatible) and you'll see progress bar working at the bottom of SP Flash Tool very fast ....at 100% you'll see a green check box showing Success.
10.Turn off SP flash Tool and disconnect USB cable from your PC.

Go to TWRP recovery from tablet Off state pressing/holding Power for about a second then press and hold vol+ until a menu displays at the bottom left.
Scroll through the menu options with vol+ and select with vol-.
You may need to know that OTA update will not work anymore with TWRP installed...only stock recovery will give you succesfully updates OTA.
To flash back original recovery.img do the steps described above (with original recovery.img from FW's V1.02/1.04) and OTA will work like before.
This TWRP recovery is the only way to backup/restore all partitions from T9 (including NVRAM) and to root with SuperSu avoiding chinese root programs.

Regards, Edy.
I think using "flashify" from PlayStore could also do the trick...installing TWRP using the tablet alone.

As freeware, you can change your recovery 3 times a day...pay version is with this limitation, of course.

I've used it with my Teclast T98 to bring back my stock recovery from several recoveries Ive tried, and it works very fine.

It's just another option, i think.

That looks pretty good.
Only limitation is Root..we need previous root to use this.
Method posted above with SP Flash Tool works with no Root needed.
I see a lot of users having problems after rooting procedure with iRoot(vRoot)..some files from Sytem seems to be damaged.
To install TWRP through flash tool we need just 1 minute if drivers are already installed.
Nice finding, BTW.
Thank's.

Regarding that error... I think you have some damaged files on System partition.
Just flash FW V1.04 with SP Flash Tool with all these steps mandatory.
Update OTA to 1.05>1.06>1.07
Flash TWRP as you see here (all steps are mandatory)
Backup all partitions using TWRP onto your external SD card (save later to your PC as a safety measure). Use that clean system state for backup (no root, no apps installed)

If you need to root, root using TWRP with SuperSu and you'll don't see anymore mesages about damaged system files.
Install app's and use as you wish.
I guess we will see in the future a few OTA updates..to use OTA just reflash only original factory recovery through SP Flash Tool and you'll have succesfully update.

Enjoy.

Drivers,SP Flash Tool, ROM's and recovery

1. Drivers and SP_Flash_Tool_v5.1452.00 here

4. Original recovery (V1.02 or V1.04 - pair with flashed ROM version) here

How to:
First, one of the provided drivers pack need to be installed(link above).
1. Download in your PC FW V1.02 or V1.04 (recommended V1.04) from above link.
2. Extract archive and rename all folders in latin characters (original folder names are in chinese)...if you keep original folder names you'll get an BRom error from SP Flash Tool.
3. Power off tablet.
4. Open SP Flash Tool (from above link or from any factory .rar file)
5. Point to scatter file and all boxes from SP Flash Tool will be populated with files.(all boxes must be ticked)

8. With tablet powered off connect USB cable (use only USB 2.0 port, USB 3.0 isn't compatible) and you'll see progress bar working at bottom of SP Flash Tool (at 100% will appear an big green box OK...that show your success) turn off SP flash Tool and disconnect USB from PC.

Greetings Edius. Many thanks for you detailed instructions. Would appreciate of you could kindly guide me thought using TWRP for backup, recovery and turning on/off rooting with SuperSu.

1. My T9 comes with 1.06 and supposedly rooted by the vendor. Is it necessary to turn off rooting before applying 1.07 OTA upgrade? And which application would you recommend for doing that?

2. So the OTA upgrade would unroot the device, correct? Would you recommend using the TWRP to turning the root back on? Instruction would be helpful.

3. Can you also kindly provide instructions using TWRP for backup and recovery?

4. Would installing TWRP disable future OTA upgrade, both locally and using wifi?

5. What about vRoot/iRoot? And what's the difference between the two and which one should be used? Would they disable future OTA upgrade?

6. You have provided both signed and unsigned MTK drivers. Which one should be used for Win7x86 ?

7. The device manager showed "This device cannot start (code 10)" for the entries listed under Ports (Coms and LPT) after driver installation. Is this correct? Windows doesn't seem to detect the tab when plugged into the computer powered-off.

Many thanks and best regards.

1. I suppose is rooted with IRoot(formerly known as VRoot) and you should check your root with Root Checker from G Store.
Now..i read here/on 4PDA forum some ugly reports ...many problems with that kind of root who will broke some system files (to check your system files integrity go to default recovery and you have this option there). If you see some negative report abot files integrity only FW reflash will help you to get rid of that.

2.To apply 1.07 OTA you don't have to unroot first, that will be lost automatically after update.
To root with TWRP is pretty easy, just enter in TWRP and go to main page in Reboot >> System >> and you'll see "Your device does not apperar to be rooted. Install SuperSU now?", swipe right to install SuperSu and will have two options :a) from TWRP b) from Google Play
Just install from Google Play and should be fine, open SuperSu and update binaries.

3. For Backup/Restore using TWRP just enter on Backup check all partition boxes, give some name (if not will be generated automatically) and choose destination to Internal SD/External SD/OTG drive as you wish.
To Restore just go to that section, point to any previous backup folder done using TWRP and choose what you need to restore or check all boxes for a full restore and swype.

4. Yes, TWRP once installed will lead to an unsuccesfull update OTA or Local..any update.zip package will try to patch default recovery too and that won't be there...FAIL.

5.vRoot/iRoot? Same shi.t, different names..just read first 5 words from here

6. I provided all kind of drivers for all tastes..I have used only these drivers with success every time on Win 8.1 and Win7 (x86_x64)

7.Just go to your Windows Device Manager/right click on Unknown Device/Update Driver Software and point to previous extracted folder "Compatible Drivers -Cube Talk 9X_T9\x86\Infs"
Try to connect with tablet powered on as long as you don't try to flash FW through SP Flash Tool and keep Device Manager opened to see what changes are there, you should see for a few seconds VCOM Preloader.
You have some detailed info's here about driver install.

Regards, Edy.

Thanks for the kind reply, Edy.

Lots of follow up questions, will first focus on Drive installation and Root Integrity Check.

(I) Driver Installation:

A) Running spinstall and dpinst:
No success running spinstall and dpinst, with the following error messages:

(ii) unable to find any drivers designed for your machine.

B) Using Device Manager to add hardware :

The signed folder contains usbvcom.inf and usbvcom_brom.inf, each offersing 4 deivce options:
DA USB VCOM Port
Gadget CDC VCOM Driver
MTK USB Port
PreLoader USB VCOM Port

(I) Driver Installation:

A) Running spinstall and dpinst:
No success running spinstall and dpinst, with the following error messages:

(ii) unable to find any drivers designed for your machine.

I haven't said to try spinstall/dpinst

The signed folder contains usbvcom.inf and usbvcom_brom.inf, each offersing 4 deivce options:

Do I install all of them?

What? Do you want to do a simple thing more complicated?

C) If the device is plugged-in unpowered, it is briefly detected for a second or so as "PreLoader USB VCOM Port (COMx)" under Ports (COM & LPT), and would disappear. Is this the correct behaviour or a problem with the USB cable?

No, that's normal behaviour with Cube T9 and Cube 9X (and possible with all MTK based devices).

As you describe, is very possible to have right driver already installed.
You can't be sure unless you try an FW flash with SP Flash Tool and see if tablet will be detected like this Click image for larger version

Is installed by vendor, T9 doen't come rooted by factory.
F) If Superuser.apk is uninstalled, would Integrity Check return to normal?

I guess not, it can't be uninstalled completely
E) How serious is the file corruption? Will 1.07 OTA fail?

Probably yes, just try to update to V1.07 OTA. If gives you FAIL at the End..that's it. Just reflash FW V1.04 using Sp Flash Tool.
G) If 1.07 OTA is successful, will Integrity Check return to normal?

Probably not, OTA update(if will be success) will not patch that files..will be there damaged.

Regards, Edy.

Greetings Edy, thanks for the kind reply.

(I) Drivers Installation:

A) It is sufficient to install only the "PreLoader USB VCOM Port" from "usbvcom.inf", right?

B) Which of the two cables should be used?
(i) The long cable that comes with the charger, or
(ii) the short OTG cable, connected to an USB extension cable?

C) When powered on, there was no "T9 Android Phone" in Device Manage using cable (i). Nothing was detected using cable (ii). Is this normal?

D) When powered off, could not stop "PreLoader USB VCOM Port" from disappearing with both (i) and (ii). Would flashing work?

(II) Root Integrity Check:

A) Would you know the software used by the vendor to root my T9? iRoot/vRoot? What are the concerns with using these?

B) The 1.07 OTA completed successfully. So it would seem the rooting done by the vendor (which I presume is officially sanctioned since it's the official outlet) does not compromise the OTA upgrade capabilities. So would it be alright to use iRoot/vRoot for rooting? From the PC or tablet?

C) If not, what would you suggest?

D) Is it necessary to remove those "corrupted" files? Any simple way short of reflashing 1.04?

E) Is it necessary to backup IMEI (and other essential data) before flashing? What are the tools for backing up/restoring ?

Many thanks and best regards.

I wrote much too many words about driver install. here, just try .
Try to use long USB cable , I don't remember any reliable way to connect T9 OTG cable to any USB port from PC.
No driver installed, no "T9 Android Phone" in Device Manager. Enable Show hidden devices.
For now are just two ways to root T9:
using iRoot( known as vRoot) - uses SuperUser
using TWRP - uses SuperSU
I said already: Iroot/vRoot will get some files broken in System.
Root method is your choice, I personally use TWRP with SuperSU.
Are you sure rooting will help you in some ways?

That is the last time when I'll insist on this subject:

1. Install drivers.
2. Reflash FW v1.04 using "long cable" and SP Flash Tool using "Download Only" mode
Here is SP Flash Tool How-To
3. Update OTA to V 1.07
3. Install TWRP and do a full tablet backup, checking all partion boxes
4. Save on external SD card/external OTG storage if you have any.
5. Move your backed up files on cloud/Pc/any safe place for later use.

Good find, Edy.

(I) TWRP_Recovery:
A) If I flash TWRP_Recovery + SuperSu, I can do a backup that can be flashed back should the tablet turn into a brick? What do I use for retoring the backup, SP Flash or from Recvoery?

B) Would TWRP backup IMEI?

C) What's the significance of NVRAM partition?

D) Your tutorial mentioned that flashing the original recovery.img from FW v1.04 after flashing TWRP_Recovery + SuperSu would turn the OTA back on. Since my T9 is now 1.07, would this procedure return the phone to 1.04 or stay at 1.07? And what about the root?

(II) Root:

A) So unlike iRoot, all files created by SuperSU will pass integrity check?

B) Root is required by Titanium_Backup, a popular software here. Is Titanium still needed if TWRP is installed?

C) Many Chinese made Android devices (such as the MT6752 Wa1) do not come with Google Play Store installed. I've been struggling installing apps like Firefox, Chrome, Maps etc from apk. They would either not install, or wouldn't run. One suggestion given was to copy the Google Play Store apk into the system, and this would require root access from a working source as well as destination. Any help on installing G_P_S without root is most appreciated.

(III) Driver

A) Just to confirm, "PreLoader USB VCOM Port (COMx)" stays on and not disappear when a powered off T9 is connected to your system?

B) When connected to a PC powered on, is the full system inclusive of root accessible to the PC?

C) I'm having a good time with the MT6752 phone. This time "HTC Android Interface" popped up under "Android Devices", nothing showed up under Disk Drives. Also no access to the root from PC. Any suggestions where I can find help will be most appreciated.

Many thanks and best regards.
