How's that ROM coming along SF? I really find it hard to believe that Matriom has all these customer complaints and no one seems to care. Kodi 14.1 sucks and the firmware 1.2.2 is not stable

Good morning, good day, and good afternoon.

My name is OpticalGuard or OG, and I've been tasked with changing the focus of this community. While looking over the topics there are some things that need to be addressed.

1. There is a lack of Matricom presence. Be it information and/or feedback.

2. Everything else is disorganized and chaotic.

While #2 will be a simpler process to work on, #1 is quite the issue to take on. As I'm sure many of you are aware, Matricom Staff does not frequent these forums often. And yet there are countless comments and topics among them asking for such attention. So how will we remedy this?

To answer that, I will be building a bridge between us in the forum and Matricom. In my plans will be a new series of boards for questions and answers from Matricom. These answers could range from development questions and so on. Of course there will be rules to this. If you have a broken device you will still need to e-mail or call the customer service team. It's their Job to help you.

However topics for apps, XBMC/Kodi, and other modifications aren't supported by Matricom staff, so in turn I will not be able to help you with those questions either.

Now with all the questions to Matricom out of the way in the different boards, this should give you the users more room to help each other with issues Matricom can't support.

I want to point out that all this G-Box stuff isn't really my area of expertise. I work on websites and forums. I will aim to give everyone the tools they need to get what they want out of these forums. All of this will develop over the course of the week. If you have any comments about the forum itself (Things you'd like changed or looked into) PM me and I will see what I can do.

Freezing when waking up

I am having problems with freezing when waking up while on XBMC. Can't turn it off or anything. Have to pull the power and let it restart. Any suggestions?

Try it - you'll be amazed if your coming from matricom's shitty rom - though until the new Megatron rom is out you'll only be using the 2,4Ghz wireless network which works like a charme

Matricom G Box Q user

For those of you using this ROM on the Matricom G Box Q. I am using the Matricom ROM on wifi about 20-25 feet from my Wireless router in the living room. Sometimes I get about 5mbps download speed according to the ookla speedtest, and other times I get pretty much nothing. Are any of you testing wifi under similar conditions? Or are you testing it within just a few feet? The extended distance wifi performance is very important to me as I want to use these in the bedrooms without having to use powerline adapters or wiring my house with Cat5.

I am okay with the Matricom ROM otherwise. It performs fine with Kodi 14.0 except for really poor wifi at extended distance, but then again I only use it for Kodi.

If this Megatron ROM provides a fast and stable wifi at reasonable distance then I would like to put it on my Q.

One other question, is the Matricom remote still compatible?

Iv just flashed my M8 metal box ,its working like a dream fast hardly any buffering ,downfall clock not working just says boot, but otherwise brilliant, bluetooth and everyting work great build thanks

Sorry... I'm not personally familiar with the speed performance of wifi. If others want to share, maybe they can be more helpful.

Yes, it can be. Open the original Matricom firmware zip and navigate to the /system/etc folder. Extract or copy remote.conf file. Rename the file matricom_remote.conf and then copy to the /system/etc folder on your TV box flashed with Megatron. Rename the existing file to original_remote.conf and then rename the matricom to remote.conf. Reboot the box and you should be good to go
