Megatron ROM for ENY EM8 and K200 T8 boxes

Hi, I have just bought a "mobie drizzle" M8B quad core with 4.4.2 on does anyone know if megatron's rom will work on it (i do not want to brick another box) Thanks in advance for any input.

Hi I updated my OTT M8 to Megatron V3. I have 2 issues:
1. volume up and down no longer works. I looked into the configuration file for the remote in system/etc/remote.conf and it was the same settings as V1 which was working. e.g. 0x11 104 and 0x4c 109. I know that the IR codes are working because I mapped them to 116 which is the android code for the Power button, and they both turned off and on the box. This leads me to think that the rom is not correctly configured to accept these codes.

2. I am not able to reset to recovery using the toothpick method. I had the same issue in V1 but it had the update & backup recovery app.

Anyone else having these issues? Anybody find a solution.

Same box, and volume works ok on mine.
I did a recovery by reinserting the SD card, and then toothpicking. It actually did an update, and installed kodi on the update instead of XBMC 13.2 and a few misc. things. Maybe worth trying that for you?
Also, and I don't recall seeing this on the first boot; there is now Transformer recovery option in apps.. I don't think it was there first time around.
There are two things that DON'T work - Mobro says it can't connect, and HDCinema also not working now. The latter I don't care about since it's another pay app., but Mobdro not working is disappointing. It works fine on a stock firmware Amlogic S805 MXq variant Same apk does not work on the OTT M8, AmLogic S802 box.

Any other mega-Tron users with the OTT M8 box have that problem? It's weird because originally HD Cinema worked. At that time, I didn't check mobdro as i had no idea what it did, and I'd become nervous since Google managed to get my credit card number from me; and then HD Cinema wanted to charge me. I stopped clicking things until I knew what they actually were.

markedman, thanks for the advice. I kept trying and eventually it worked. Not sure why it did that but whatever.

I have another issue now. I updated my friends to the latest V3 for megatron but he lost wifi. It won't even turn on in the android settings. The original build was KOT49H.20150601 test-keys. I think that this box is really new (from this month) so they might have changed the wifi chipset causing it to not work with megatron.

I tried flashing all of the different roms that I could find e.g. finless, justme, eny mediabox standard roms, etc. but none of them work. Wifi is still not working in any of them.

Anyone know where I might find the original firmware so I could go back to it? Should I contact OTT directly?

I've decided I'd like to go back to the original factory ROM, BUT....Mega-Tron
won't let me. Attempts at flashing the original ROM always results in Mega-tron booting. Any ideas?

Are you having issues in getting into the recovery mode or during the installation?

if getting to recovery mode, I just kept trying and eventually it worked. Also, try using the reboot program that comes with V3, both reboot to recovery and reboot to bootloader.

hi there im also having a problem with v3, with was the same on v2. I link my m8 box to my pc over wifi but v3 and v2 dont give me movie covers in kodi via a smb connection. Need to go back to V1 but when flashing via recovery i get a msg saying that i cant downgrade. how can i get back to v1 where i did not have the issue

Tried flashing back multiple ROMS including stock but it seems to be stuck not working.

Is there a baseband that i can flash to the device that might get this working? Really hard to find anything on fixing this issue :-/

nub here, question, i installed v1, after that installed, v3, im not seeing the xunity launcher, has that been dropped?, megatron is great, thanks to all who made it happen, installed this on a friends M8, when the software on it went south, blue lite is off now when the box is off, and you can turn it on and off with the keyboard now

Here is the Factory image its the latest build for the Em8, at least you will have the box working again, recover from USB, put zip file on USB drive hold in toothpick untill you get recovery screen, select "apply update from ext" then select update from UDISK, then select the zip file, you need a keyboard plugged in to select from the options.
Takes about 5mins to fully boot after recovery so be patient.

You can also recover from twrp on sd card and zip on usb, just select install in twrp and select the zip file.
