I'd assume that somewhere in all of these posts, this has been discussed, but I couldn't find such. My M8 came via ****, and it has some quirks. First, there is NO reset button, even inside the A/V hole as suggested earlier. Next, though I couldn't just flash the whole Mega-tron package, I was able to install 90% of the Megatron apps directly off the SD card storage. That included Kodi, and I test ran that.
Kodi 14.2 Helix is installed, but as has also been discussed elsewhere in these forums; I have no video, only audio...
Since I now have such a good variety of apps installed though, I was wondering if I could use one of these to correct for the AM Logic shortcomings when it comes to Kodi video. I seem to recall something about removing some Kodi options, and/or using the Commander app to make some other changes...? I'm at a loss, and though I feel it must have been addressed somewhere on Freaktab, for the life of me I can't find it.
So, for the dunce in the class......what do i need to do? 2 decades on Windows PC's, and now with anything Android; I'm back to square one.

I forgot to add a box info. link. It seems my box is the same as is being reviewed here :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vw--cBwO_fI It is an OTT M8.

Hope that helps

Now the mega dollar question - did you use the Mega-Tron rom per this thread on yours, and did it work, with working Kodi?
Everything works 100% great on my box, all other video sources, etc., except for anything XBMC/Kodi video. The only 'working" version I had was the 13.2 gotham, as shipped, BUT even that was a a little quirky as the box would reboot from time to time. Something that rarely happened with my lowly Amazon Fire TV Stick.

I found MY answer too. Perhaps it should be reposted into the OTT M8 discussion that is somewhere on Freaktab. If someone were to do that; it's fine by me. Here is MY answer:
Install your preferred Kodi (or Gotham if you must) via the ARM apk. After the initial setups are completed by Kodi, install a few video addons.
Then go to System, Settings, Video. Scroll down and set to Expert level. Go to Hardware accelerators, and unclick all but libstagefright.
Now, go to one of the video addons and try it - your video will be working fine! My video is crystal clear 1080P, no problems with having turned off the unnecessary accelerators. For what ever reason, the way these boxes work, they don't need these at all. The answer was right there built into Kodi all along and I was too dense to see it.
I also did a hacked in version of v.3, in that I just installed the various apps., directly off the SD card storage. Not sure what I'm missing from having done it that way, but it's all in there, and all working.
Good enough for me for now. I'm just happy having a working set top again...Whew!
