LOL
Remember I'm not that techie so am generally happy with K's build but I'm hoping with Kodi Javis and a few tweaks we will end up with something that will be solid for a long time to come without keep updating and messing about. HEVC support, mp3 playback is all I think most of us need from a media player. Yes the streaming is great but I could live without that. Just nice to not have to deal with any stress and have a box that does XYZ. Anyway in another few years something will come along that does 'everything-and-more' and is fully supported.
And as a last thought, think OpenElec, if a box appears in different flavours and is fully supported, streaming as well, and is cheap then it's the end game for a lot of big companies like Sky, netflix etc.

I tried the 6.0.0.2 both MXQ.arm and HD18Q and both come up with footer is wrong and signature fail. It is a MXQ Leelbox OTT red stripe. i attached a couple photos of the board. i cannot get any openelec version to take. The only version that would write was HD18Q 5.0.8.20 and that bricked it. Any help? Also original ROM is KOT49h.201512122 test-keys and i cannot find a copy of this. anybody have this?

jed PatrickJB "Real" power off/suspend is a matter of good bootloader+kernel combination. In general, it is always better to use manufacturer-provided bootloader, which is now possible with >=6.0.0.2. Unfortunately some vendors do not use standard power off/suspend functions provided by Amlogic in public source code and implement their own ways. It is also hard to make it work on both Android and OpenELEC without knowing the source. On my MK808B+ suspend works well for me now with factory-provided bootloader and USB devices go to sleep. I will do tests with HD18Q as soon as I receive it. For the good news: I unpacked a HD18Q firmware image posted here on FreakTab and I may know how to make the power LED work. For WiFi, I will need to try several versions of driver provided by Amlogic.
Next release will be based on OpenELEC 6.0.1 and I hope to include the latest Codesnake's kernel with no boot-related issues. I'll be away for the weekend, next release is scheduled for early February.

All Black MXQ "AM_MXQ_A 20150825" Board " RTL8189ETV wifi chip"
Today i flashed 2 Android roms from above link. First the v2. With this rom i had remote but no wifi showing up to connect to. Remote worked. I then flashed v3 over the v2 toothpick method and remote did not work. I have both the raised button remote and the flat button remote(from another MXQ all black) None worked.
I used a usb remote which got me around the menus. I wont bore everyone with everything i did except for one thing.
I hooked up to wifi and the using ookla speedtest app in Android i got 20 mb/ps. I was shocked at the high speed. My router is 15 metres away on upper level. No box i have ever tested has got that speed in the same position.
The bad news is when i went into current Kodi 15.2 my speeds dropped to 0.25 mb/ps. I repeated the tests In Android and back inside playing Kodi with the same results. Android speed AMAZING. Kodi 15.2 Shocking.
One thing this showed me was the RTL8189ETV wifi chip is very powerful but software is Bottlenecking the transfer speeds.

Just wondering if this line in my debug log has anything to do with the power settings:
"ERROR: DBus: Error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown - The name org.freedesktop.UPower was not provided by any .service files"
Seems to relate to this: http://upower.freedesktop.org/docs/UPower.html
No idea if this is relevant but just thought i'd mention it.

Hello! Looking for help for a fresh installation which a friend of mine is attempting on a Ap6212 Mk808b Plus: He has 6 items on the flashed Microsd ( as a sdinstall of 6.0.0.2 Openelec - always thanks to Kszaq !!!!):
factory _updte_param.aml
kernel.img
openelec amlogic mk808b plus arm 6.0.0.2-bootloader.zip
recovery.img
system
He made it with Linux live usb creator. Flashes but boots to Android instead. Didn't the bootloader had to remain original one ? I'm not so techie btw.
Thanks for your interest!
Never mind, sorted out, he choose nand file installation!

bootloader doesn't flash anymore. If android boots again your bootscript is not compatible with the new method...
Please write your boot variables to here. You can do it by "strings /dev/nand_env" command.

Hi thanks for the upgrade to 6, wondering if anyone can help me. I use mettle kettles app to connect to pia, no issues on 5.08 watching American hd streams with the old add on. However when I tried on 6 I get lots of buffering.
Trying to figure out
Is it the app?
Is it the build, do I need to change any settings?
Any help would be appreciated, it's doing my head in lol
