Bob firm is better than original stock, at least in my opinion. And when we can get a 1080p will be awesome

Thanks. I'm using the adapter and cables it came with. My issue may be though that I have it plugged into one of those AC blocks that turns two outlets into six. Maybe I'll try to run a cord to a dedicated outlet to see what happens. If I were to purchase a new power adapter for this thing, what voltage/amperage/wattage would be the best one to find and get?

At least 2A, more better and expensive, and of course 5V like all usb.

I have both an MK808 and an MK808B. On the MK808B I have Finless 1.5 and it works awesome!! The stock firmware has a lot of chinese apps that I don't need. Besides, with root access you can install some advanced applications and particullarly the Reboot app really comes in handy.

With the MK808 I installed Finless 1.6 and everything worked great, I tried a 1080 ROM found here http://blog.geekbuying.com/index.php...mware-release/ but it was very slow and unresponsive so I switched back to Finles 1.6.

Regarding the power supply I have no issues at all. Be sure to plug the unit on the port marked as power and not on the OTG port.

One more thing, at first I was connecting my MK808 to a usb port ON my TV. Bad idea, every time I turn the TV off, the unit was "unplugged" so everytime my TV was on the unit was turned on too. Which we know its bad for the file system and all that.

                Hope it helps!

Thanks. I went to a dedicated outlet for power thinking it might solve my issues. Flashed again (5th time I think) and everything booted up fine. But when I tried to use the reboot app to power down and move to the new power source instead of the computer/OTG option, it gave me an error that I was not rooted.???Huh??? That is a new one for me. Guess I will try again.... /sigh

That can happen if you work too fast

When the system boots, in the background it is doing a lot of things and sometimes when you run a rooted APP it cannot call superuser or superuser times out. Whenever you boot up, give the system about 10-15 seconds to settle down loading stuff.

Think I will add that to the directions. Once the unit reboots, wait a full minute, power down, then plug it in to the AC. :-)

Is there any power off app that works with mk808B? I dont talk about finless internal power off-reboot app but i m talking about google play power off app - in general I haven't tried that's why i am asking

P.S This app i suppose? does it work or not?

                          I recommend:

Confirmation to power off not required

I'm using Finless 1.5 for original mk808b on my uhost2 and it solved all the audio sync problems we have on thi stick.

If Finless do a 1.6 version, I would like to be able to overclock to uhost2 oem 1.4ghz. ( 720p is fine for me anyway.)

                                Hello ppl!
First i like to say thanks to Finless & the crew here who's making a fantastic job with the roms!
I decided to register today after reading this section of the forum for a few weeks.

The 1.5 Custom ROM for my 808B was the first custom rom that gave me working wireless so for now i will stick with it. My goal is to turn this little stick into a substitute for my AppleTV running XBMC. So far not a 100% working solution, but i guess its only at mather of time

                                My concerns so far:
                                1) I cant mount my SMB-shares from my NAS using CIFS-Manager. It gives me the "No such device"-error, no mather what i do. I also tried mounting a FTP-connection. I know the NAS is ok because the AppleTV has been streaming from it for 2 years. Any ideas what the problem might be?

                                2) Im trying to get HW-decoding to run smooth. I have tried different soultions and right now the best solution seems to be XBMC + MXPlayer as external player. I downloaded the package that lewy20041 provided on his page, but there are some problems.

When i try to play a .mkv file by adding a new source in XBMC from my FTP-server running on my NAS, i can connect and browse the files without a problem, but when i click on a file from the it says "Press ok when external player finish" and nothing happens.

The strange thing is if i download the same file to the internal sdcard and open it there tru ESFileExplorer and open it works perfect playing in MXPLayer. So to me it seems to be a problem related to the XBMC vs. FTP-protocol in some way?

I can also browse FTP-share in ESFileExplorer and play with MXPlayer almost perfectly,
sometimes i get pixel-errors on the top of the screen (see picture http://imgur.com/FcdBYDF & http://imgur.com/EDtwjkX).

                                Thank you in advance!
