On my UG802 (the menus are the same as on the MK808) the two things that I've done to connect stick to PC are:
1. Click on the main settings icon (black square/blue border and what looks like slider buttons on it) then click on USB and tick connect to PC....this setting is also available under the "System" tab/USB settings in the yellow/white cog settings icon (described below)
2. To change between "Media device" and "Mass Storage" go to all your apps (from home screen click on six small white squares in top right corner) then click on the settings icon with two cogs (one yellow one white). Click on "Device" tab (looks like a TV !) then click on USB computer connection and you get the choice to change between Media device/Mass Storage.
When flashing a ROM USB debugging (settings/developer options in blue/black settings icon and in two cogs settings it's system tab and scroll down to USB debugging!) should be off and any external SD card should be removed.
Hope it helps!

First time experience w flashing the rom
Hi Finless,
Thanks for posting this up for all of us MK808 users. This was my experience with installing the rom and the instructions.
Took me almost 2 hours to figure out how to get it into flash mode. For some reason it couldn't do so automatically so went out to find a paper clip...
Paper clip in followed by usb to OTG port on the side and windows went BONG and recognised the USB device so I followed instructions to get to find the driver from the files extracted. This was when things went abit haywire.. failed to install RK30 driver so I just restarted PC and rebooted MK808 as per instructions.
Still no "Found RKAndroid MASS Storage USB" and though to try the paper clip thing once again. This time the driver that got picked up caused the device to be recognised as a HID keyboard. Panic and started surfing the web for answers. Did a system restore to the point before installing drivers as i could not get win XP to stop recognising it as a keyboard.
Eventually I came across this website for MK808 usb drivers and d/led them to give it ago (wasn't sure MK808 had bricked so just had to give it a go). http://www.gadgetreactor.com/2012/12...are-1080p.html
USB drivers from the site were here: http://uploading.com/files/get/f21e6...kusbDriver.rar
Success after that as I followed with the paperclip but choosing to pick up the file from this new d/led folder.
Thanks again i though i might share just in case other had this prob. Going to try out skype on my webcam..

Solved Freezing Problem
Originally posted by danievdm View PostMy first upgrade to 1.5a was flawless and I used it for long periods of time. I just upgraded to 1.6 and am finding that after about 1 minute after the launcher screen appears, the ROM will either freeze or sometimes it reboots. It does not feel very hot (just slightly warm). I have tried setting the screen resolution down to a lower setting. I have also reflashed (erased and the flashed) a second time. Any suggestions will be welcome.

If it was me, I would re-start both the PC and the "stick" and try again closely following the readme and making sure the correct version of the drivers are installed.
I see from the readme that there are two ways to get into flash mode (ffoxin suggested pressing the hardware reset button etc.. in his reply to your first post). You may want to try this method with Flash Tool.exe open on your PC as you connect your stick to see if this bounces it into flash mode.
Also, the readme notes some USB issues:
Notes:
If you got errors using the PC flash tool, then you have some kind of USB problem.
Some things to check:
1) Make sure you connect to a real USB port from the PC. NOT a USB hub or maybe even front panel USB ports!
2) Some older BIOS have a setting called "high speed USB". You may have to go into the BIOS and turn that off.
That was a crappy implementation of USB 3.0 that is not reliable.
3) Try connecting to USB 2.0 ports instead of 3.0 if you have them.
4) Try unplugging any other USB devices like removable disks, hubs, media readers, etc.
5) All else fails, try another PC.
...Someone in an earlier post also had success when they changed the USB cable!
Good luck!
