      Nope, that did not work.
I even tried to set the router on another channel, i get great download speeds and almost full wifi but still it will disconnect every 10 min or so.

Hmm I only ever had a problem with WiFi on 1080 maybe a power issue.

Maybe it's a heat issue ...try to reduce (with ROM Toolbox) the frequency ... I use mine at 1200 MHz, without problems.

Ok, I received my MK808 today from a Chinese maker through Amazon. I found this site after I placed my order. I plan on using a high quality power supply and do an antenna fix. And of course flashing Bob's custom rom. I would put a custom rom on my lawnmower if I could, lol.

After going over my packaging for my "Mini TV" it says CPU RK3066 Dual Core 1.6G (Cortex-A9) etc..
Key words/numbers here are the "1.6G" processor. Anyone here heard of a MK808 that's 1.6ghz?

            Thanks in advance!

While they all say 1.6 proc which is true (that is it "can" run that fast), the majority of these TV sticks are clocked at a max of 1.2 with most running at 1.08 for heat reasons.

                stuck at 1008 Ghz

                Guys,

I have searched but not really found a solution and am hoping someone can simply, and concisely explain:
                1) Is the MK808 w/ 1.6 ROM capable of running at speeds over 1008 Ghz ?
                2) If so, how do I do it ?

To date I have ROM Toolbox installed, and my 808 does not seem to go above 1008.
Maybe because it is not "stressed" enough to need to go higher? I really do not know - this should be simple but for me has been difficult.

                Thanks - B

The kernel is locked and thus you cannot change the speed.

2dark4u I think will be releasing a new kernel if he has not already on 4PDA.ru

Thanks Bob. I came to the same conclusion researching today.
Does anyone know the stock kernel version numbers? I just want to make sure mine is the same. Really its the chip that matters.. and I am almost certain my MK808 has the same CPU, but checking before I flash never hurts.

I really am looking forward to flashing your ROM.

Thanks. Then once that ROM comes out, what would I do/use to change the clock speed? I have already "rubber-banded" an old desktop cpu heatsink, no fan, to the MK808 in anticipation...

All else is working well - I have more findings on the game console front and will update that post soon.
In a nutshell, try PS3, not PS2 controllers.
My PS2 controller and a similar chinese one seem to work only the D-PAD on the left side. The right side buttons and front buttons do not work. But, the PS3 controller should be here soon.

So I don't think it's a camera problem, something about finless 1.6 and Skype, or some other conflicting app maybe ?
That's odd because geekbuying claims that they have tested logitech C170 & C270 and is working for them. Tried a older version of skype? powered usb hub ?

There is a new firmware released on the 10th Jan13 by geekbuying for MK808 http://blog.geekbuying.com/index.php...-10th-release/

I can't even take a photo/video from my logitech C525 although voice recording works

Let me know how you go as I might consider getting a logitech c170 if it works

Firstly I'd like to say thank you to you Bob for creating this great ROM. I got my MK808 2 days ago and the first thing I did before I even turned it on was put your rom on it!

Now a couple of questions, probably been answered before but the search function on this forum is pretty useless IMO...

                          1. Can I and should I flash the Krizt 1.5mhz kernel on on this rom and if so all I need to is ONLY tick the kernel box right, no need to flash all?

                          2. Any one point me in the direction of a good guide for XBMC, with suggested plugins etc for Android.

                          3. Sorry Bob but I hate the boot animation, any links to an alternative or JB stock looking, I tried a boot animation from a Nexus tablet but it borked (and yes I did set the read permissions)

                          Thanks

IIRC there is a 1.2ghz kernel released. Its a merged version of bobs 1.5a and the 1080p kernel. I'm sure lewy HSS a thread for it on here somewhere or maybe over at armtv forum. YouTube vid of it shows only a small amount of improvement in my opinion. Use TV launched as the default launcher and you probably won't ever had desktop lag issues.

1.6 has much more features than my 1.5a and yes Kiz kernel works with it.

As for the boot animation, just make your own.
