Thanks Bob. I installed the new Rom 1.6 and was show, took another life for my MK808. He was tired of using the original interface. I'm testing all functionality. Congratulations on a great job. Hi sobrius. I had the failed coming back from CM10... here is what I did and it worked. Plug your device in holding the flash button - open the rk tool as ADMINISTRATOR - erase your nand twice - close rk tool - unplug your device from the PC (and power if your not powering it from the PC) - plug it into A DIFFERENT USB PORT ON THE PC (best would be if it was front goto back or vice versa so you know your on a different hub) - reopen rk tool as ADMINISTRATOR - erase nand and then flash.... if it fails again in around the 30mb transferred mark, start over... mine took a couple tries but it did finally work. I think the key is to hard reset the device and use a different port forcing the pc to refresh its device driver. Good luck, and don't worry, I am sure we will get it back, just got to keep playing with it.

Issues with 1.6

I updated to 1.6 and the only benefit that I see is that I now have root access to the MK808.

Everything basically works but:

- Settings app is missing (with the two cogs). It had video calibration settings that are not in the other settings app.
- The task bar cannot restore once you click to make it go away. I was unable to find any way to restore it.
- I prefer the standard Android TV boot screen vs. the one in 1.6 (just personal preference).
- I don't like the homepage in the browser defaulted to geekbuying.com after updating.
- The system now takes longer to boot

I do appreciate the effort and I will probably keep this room so I can have root access, but I miss some of the missing features from the stock rom.

More than root access

Well, I think there are more possitive things on this ROM than the original one.

I can say the system is cleaner now, without any software you don't need, in my case I had a lot of Chinese stuff.
About the task bar, please, try to make click with left button on your mouse or pointer and (from down to up) drag it, you will see the bar appears again.
For the homepage, it is easy, change it, I put Google without any problem (or choose Firefox from the Market if you feel better with it)
It is a great ROM and must be completely checked and evaluated, but for me, by far, it is better than the original one.

Hi Danish. All but one of those are simple to solve -

1 - I think you are referring to the "spare parts" app by settings and two geared icon - could just get it from the play store (or download and sideload it)
2 - the taskbar is brought back but just dragging it back up. Place your curser in the middle bottom of the screen where the two down arrows would be, click and drag the taskbar back onto your screen
3- Use "boot animation changer app" - its on the play store and works fine with this rom.
4 - Its easy to change the default homepage on the browser - just go into settings, its right there
5 - I don't know if the boot times can be improved much, I just leave mine on since it uses so little power anyway.

My sucessfully story (at least for now)

After kernel to alex2drk version 1.4, I think that this kernel with this Bob firmware are really AMAZING. Everything works fast, I was even able to configure my MS 360 Wireless joy and use it with Dead Trigger after some small tweeking and was GREAT !

Now, I just need BT, I need to send audio to my speakers cause my audio is too low on my projector, so if ANYONE has any ideas... I tried several diferent BT dongles with no luck.

For the rest Bob, what a GREAT firmware ! Thanks to you from my beloved Argentina (Just saying my location for u to know that ppl all around the world tx u)

My wifi is broken

My wifi is broken.


I use ROM Finless 1.6 for MK808 on MK808.
My MK808 was working 24h/day one week. Today, my MK808 doesn't connect using Wifi. I've flashed my MK808 with Finless 1.6 but wifi doesn't work (not active).
I've tried to flash different kernet 1.4 (alex2drk) but wifi continues doesn't work.
Any idea?

yes, the problem is not my router. I have others tvbox running well (mk802-3s, Hi802, Ug807, ..)

1) To make file transfer easy I use: ES File Explorer, and you need to enable Root access to be able to put some files inside system (you need to be able to write there).

2) From this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1792531 (you need the uncompressed files)

3) Copy the uncompressed files u downloaded here: /system/usr/keylayout/

4) Make a copy of this file and rename it like it says:

Make a NEW Copy this one: Vendor_045e_Product_0291.kl
And Rename to: Vendor_045e_Product_0719.kl

5) At this point u should have 3 new files on the /system/usr/keylayout/ directory:Vendor_045e_Product_0291.kl
Vendor_045e_Product_0719.kl
Vendor_045e_Product_0719.kcm

6) Just change write permissions using ES File Explorer on those 3 files to ensure they have:

RW for USER or OWNER
R for OTHERS

7) Reboot and u'r done.

Dead Trigger works with the analog pad's but you need to define shot and reload buttons at least, unfortunatelly (not sure why) you can only use the triggers, cause it's not recognizing any buttons yet, but you can play perfectly.

Hope this helps... anyway, the linked guide is almost the same , I just made it easy (I think)....
