unable to install downloaded apk

hello,

faced a very strange issue when trying out this rom. was able to load the rom without any problems. was able to install all my apps from google play without issues, however when i try to install apk file of apps downloaded from other sources, i am unable to click on install button when the installer starts. the button just does not respond, however cancel button responds. i was trying to install xmbc. suspecting some issues on rom installation, i went back to jan'13 released stock which i had previously and with no issues. but even this started giving the same problem when i tried xmbc or petrus's reboot app.

i use droidmote and one instruction is to update busybox before installing droidmote server. i installed busybox installer from market and updated to latest 1.21

could that be causing the problem ? any help appreciated.

Very possible! Busybox is not 100% compatible with other systems. This is why I install the version I do in my ROMs as in my testing, it works and works well. I have never had an issue with the version I use and I am not a simple users

So updating busybox could very well be your problem. I don;t have time to test all that stuff myself. Only you guys can.

Thanks Bob, will retry without busybox update. But not sure if all features of Droidmote will work. Nevethless your RKremote app works well too, but for playing some games like subway surfer or temple run etc. Droidmote had the touch mouse option which I was testing....but getting the touch profile is another pain .

EDIT - Yes the problem was due to Busybox update. Now downloaded apk is installing without any issues !

I have a mk808b and are trying the above rom. My device is found (it says found mass storage) but when I press the flash mode button I get Can not go into flash mode because of no drive. Any idea on how to proceed? I have a sony vaio win 7 x64 pc. My main purpose is to install picuntu and they recommended to use the finless rom.

On some of my instructions I had a mistake. I tell you to turn off USB debugging and turn off USB storage.
It should be
turn off USB debugging in settings>advanced
Go into settings>storage and in the top right corner click on the 3 dots. Change this setting to Mass storage. By default on some roms it is set to MTP device. It wont work when set to MTP.
Goto settings>usb and turn on connection to PC

It should work then.

Not likely.. just have to do it in order. And it has to be true 2.0 and the otg port..

very often my browser says that he don´t react anymore while streaming online movies.. does anybody have the same problem... that sucks.. -.- are there altnerative browsers with flash?

Hey is it "no drive" or "no driver" when you click the "Flash Mode" button. I believe I got a "no driver" error at that stage first time I click the "Flash Mode" button too - I installed the drivers manually from the Rom kit folder "Drivers" folder at that stage. Rebooted the machine and then it worked for me.

Force 1080p or 720p mode, NOT 720x567

I have modified a Motorola LapDock to work with the MK808 as a kind of Android Notebook...
(Using HDMI, Keyboard and Mousepad of the Lapdock).

This seems to work great, however the MK808 always falls back to the silly 720x576 Resolution.

The LapDock screen has 1368x768 and i KNOW that it is brilliant at interpolating 1280x720 and especially 1920x1080 looks GREAT (goot work Motorola, also you suck at updating your phones your engineering is WOW).

Long story short Question, can i force the Output of the MK808 to ALWAYS be 1080p or 720p no matter what the Monitor EDID says ?
(Or even better can i introduce more Resolutions like 1366x768 ???)

P.S. i can trick the MK808 by booting with a full HD screen attached and then replugging the HDMI to my 1368x768 screen. So i KNOW it can work and that there is no realtime res switching once the boot is done. Seems to be just a little step...

Have you messed with or considered adding the Linaro toolchians to your ROMs? They are starting to pop up on some AOSP builds on XDA and was curious of your thoughts.
