Hi guys!
Haven't had any issues with wifi and connection speed before. Netflix and other streaming services working ok. Also watching pictures on the NAS. But since I got a new smartphone (a HTC One) with a good camera I've started to shoot 1080 video in mp4 format with it.

My problem is that when I store those films on my NAS and try to play them on the mk808 (finless 1.7c) over wifi The video lags. If I store the files locally on the mk808 they play fine. Tried a couple of different players and get pretty much the same behavior. My player of choice is MX.

Even if I have good wifi connection with 54mbps the video lags.
I got the folders on the NAS mounted as cifs. Is that maybe the problem? Can I access/mount them in any other way over wifi? Or is the only solution getting lan via cable to the mk808 (which would be a pain since the router is in another part of our home)?

EDIT: did some more searching of the forum and found some posts that mentioned something called NFS and that it would be to prefer over CIFS and give better transfer speeds (I'm not that good at this stuff and dont know the difference). But those posts also stated that NFS is not supported by the MK808. Is this correct - or is there some way of using NFS instead of CIFS?

While NFS may be faster than CIFS, the only way I have been able to connect to an NFS server with Finless rom is via XBMC. It provides an easy way to connect to NFS shares and works really well. I would like to connect MX Player via NFS, but have not found a solution that doesn't involve changing roms and I'm not ready to do that.

Also, your NAS has to have an NFS server. You can also set up a server of your own on a Linux box or on Windows using FreeNFS or something like that.

Help with install

I have a mk808 not sure if its a b or any other type but I have installed a few different upgrades but after the mk808 reboots all I get is a penguin in the top left hand side of the TV. I am not good with computers bu all your instruction seem simple to fallow so don't know what's is going wrong can anyone out there please help me. Sting

I bought it on **** and was advertised as mk808. I have emailed the guy I bought it from but he hasn't replied

If you search a little, there is a way to check what is your stick opening it and looking for the wifi chipset.

Did it came with a package or you bought it used? If package then check it well , if no package then do what leaolas just said. There is a sticky to identify if your device is a clone or not.

XBMC Seeking not working

Was using Hybryd ROM and seeking 30 seconds and 10 minutes - keyboard left, right, up and down arrows was working fine with every XBMC build. Just flashed Finless ROM 1.7c and now seeking with any arrow key just bring the video time back to the beginning at 0 seconds. The only build that works normal is the 02/19 hwaccel build but I wanted to use later builds and they all have this issue. Anyone experience this?

Screen stuck

Hello.

I followed the instructions to put the 1.7 rom. Everything worked perfectly, and I used the dongle all yesterday.
But this morning when I tried to start it, it gets stuck at the boot screen (with colored lights flashing).


Can you help me?

Edit : I installed the rom again and it seems to work again ... Strange.

Backup

Hello,

I have MK808B. I tried the finless 2.1 and now i am back to fineless 1.7.
Everything is working smooth and fast. I have added the advancedsetting.xml and patched the libstagefright.zip and couldn't be happier.

Thanks BOB for making this wonderfull ROM.

Is there an easy way to backup the image that i have on my MK808B. I have other friends who would like my setup and i was wondering if i can backup my image, i can just restore it and don't have to re-download all the apps and make additional settings.
I did search and came across CWM.
There are 2 CWM files for MK808B
1. MK808B
2 MK808B(MT)

Does anyone knows which one is the correct one? Also is CWM the only way to backup the image or is there anything else out there? Has anyone backed up their image via CWM, if so can you please share your experience?

Have you added the advancedsetting.xml file to /.xbmc/userdata and placed LIBSTAGE in /system/lib/ ?

Where is source?

ROM is awesome. Thanks Finless.But is source available?I would like to play with this device a bit and try to attach some hardware which is not supported in kernel which comes with this ROM. So I would like to build more kernel modules for it and am interested in kernel source or at least in kernel build configuration.
