I eventually had to reset the NAND by putting the clone into Mask ROM mode, but I'm now successfully rooted and running Finless 1.7 for the MK808B V1 clone with wi-fi and full NAND memory available. Thanks!

Thanks, Finless Bob, for your ROM support for my MK808B V1 clone. I owned four original MK808Bs (gave them away to family and friends), and accidentally flashed a Finless 1.7 ROM for the original MK808B on my V1 clone. That left me with no wi-fi, and damaged memory (no accessible NAND).
I eventually had to reset the NAND by putting the clone into Mask ROM mode, but I'm now successfully rooted and running Finless 1.7 for the MK808B V1 clone with wi-fi and full NAND memory available. Thanks!MK808 w/Omegamoon kernel, CWM recovery, & Finless 1.7 ROM

never get to say 'Found RKAndroid Loader Rock Usb'
Hi everyone. I am pretty inexperienced in all this so if I have the wrong forum please accept my apologies and point me to the right one.
I have a Point of View TV-HDMI-KB-01 TV on a stick. I have managed to root it and am trying to install the Finless 1.7c ROM. I have managed to get it into Flash mode and installed the Windows 7 32 bit drivers.
At least I think I have the drivers installed - it shows up in Device Manager as 'ROCKCHIPS' under Portable Devices. However, the ROM Flash Tool very rarely allows me to put it in flash mode, usually I get an error saying 'Flash Mode failed'. Even on the few occasions that it has gone to Flash mode it never says 'Found RKAndroid Loader Rock Usb' and I can get no further. The alternate method provided is more successful in putting into Flash mode via the 'Switch' function - but then the ROM Flash Tool does not see it and I do not know what I should be telling the FW path browser to be looking for.
Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Ok. Thanks Bob for this rom. It is very nice and stable so far. I have only noticed a "glitch" on this rom and i will try to replicate it. To do that follow these steps:
1) In settings->display, enable the "auto hide" status bar
2) Go into stock web browser (the one with the blue earth). At that time the status bar disappear and that is correct
3) With this setting go into a site with live streaming content (like sportlemon.tv, y must have adobe flash player) and open a live streaming channel
4) Maximize the screen (use full screen option usually on the bottom right place of the channel)
Voila ! There is SOUND but no IMAGE !!! I have replicated many times and doesnt work. If i have status bar always on i dont have this problem
I think this is a conflict between adobe flash player + status bar (?). Any ideas?

Works with cozyswan model
Flashed my Cozyswan MK808B with MK808B Finless 1.7.
I simply checked dmesg and found that my wifi chip was RK903, and went for it.
Flash experience was very good once I sorted out how to get into USB storage mode (the setting was hiding in the upper right hand corner). Just follow the excellent instructions. Too easy.
Thanks for this great ROM. It works great so far, and looks very nice with the grid launcher. I am a very happy camper.

Out of Range
Bob:
Benn using this Rom for several months now, it works fine..... My TV is old. I am getting an "Out of Range" error from my tv if I use any other modern Rom to include Roms that are 720...
Why does this Rom work at 720 but your other Roms do not? Can you change or downgrade the other 720 Roms to work with my ols DELL Plasma TV?

How do I get the device back into Flash Mode? Is it possible?
This is the one I got:

And are you sure it is a original? I read at least from 4 people that received clones from amazon.

Before you flash another rom you should check which version of the stick you have.

Okay so mine looks like this inside.. Doesn't seem to look like any of the others in the thread..
Has MediaTek chip but otherwise looks like the original. The antennas were also unattached to the plastic covers, one of which isn't attached to anything (other than it's soldered end)
Original ROM booted okay but wifi and bluetooth didn't work. Other ROM's didn't boot and came up with Linux penguins.
EDIT: Okay, so the only ROM I can successfully boot is the original one, but WiFi and Bluetooth won't work. Any ideas?Last edited by lefty989; 01 October 2013, 12:09.
