I purchased a MK808B from amazon germany and got it delivered today. I already opened it to check wether it's original or fake.

    Here are some photos:

Is this the original version? There's the RK903, but also two elixir ones. And I removed the silver paper to see what's beneath and put it back (as seen) - is that okay like it is or could I've short circuited something by pressing it down.

I guess it's the orginial one, hm? So, could I use Finless 2.1 for MK808b or is there more to check? I did not plug it into my TV till now.

Ah, FYI: I do not want to stream LAN-videos. I want to use this stick mostly for surfing the web, watching IMDB trailers, YouTube streams and Office. I bought a Logitech K400 keyboard additionally to use with the stick. I should probably use a USB extension cable for the USB dongle of the K400 to move it as far away as possible fromt the stick (reg. WLAN), hm? Uh, and my WLAN Router is only 50 centimeters away, approximately. Oh, and can I use one of the TVs USB port to power the MK808B (one with 1A) or should I use the original power supply?

I want to flash the 1080p kernel too. My TV is a 46 inch LED with 1080p and I guess, fonts/texts wouldn't be sharp enough for surfing/"officing" comfy, hm?

But, main question here, of course, is it an original or a fake?

    Thank you in advance!! :-)
    Welcome !!

Yes you have a legit version and you can update to any firmware , and yes you can update also to the finless bob 2.1 , i recomand you the 720p kernel its more powerfull !
*No you cant use the usb to power the device , if you have less than 2A under load the device will reset or turning off .
*If you have bad wifi signal check the signal pins under the mobo.

    Have a nice day !

For those who are buying MK808/B this is the new antenna:

This one is MEDIATEK WiFi solution, but I got some RT chipset too and they mount same antenna. Factory is going to change MEDIATEK to RT series again. MK908 never changed.

Also as I said before, now all of them comes with a new launcher, a rubbish launcher in my oppinion. This is why I recommend to flash ZERO Devices firmware or Finless if available.

This is original, all of them are. I have seen this version here. Now even the antenna is total different than before but you can not think because changed is not original.

I've been in MK808/B MK908 factory two times in the last 3 months and follow their changes from very near...

I've been taking the ROM found in the quote below as stock.. Maybe it isn't the same then..

This is such a pain. Wish the damn thing came pre-rooted.

    Hi,
I'm not sure which one is the Afunta one...

The version I got is not rooted. As it did not work like a imagined it is kind left behind... I plan on giving a little more effort on it to make it work as planned.

    Problems:
    - Video play is not very smooth. It plays, but it looses some frames
    - BT does not work well with my BT keyboard. It connects but sometimes it simply do not respond and then keeps repeating the keystrokes.
    - I connect my usd HD to play some movies. Sometimes it just freezes in the middle and disconnect the USB, then I have to go to the movie again.

I only used the stick for a very short time. It is connected to the tv, but off. i plan to check it out again soon.

Now all MK808, MK808B (also mediatek versions) come with a new rubbish launcher. You are not allowed to move your apps to the main page. It's really bad.

I suggest upload to the ZERO Devices firmware what is compatible:

    COMPATIBLE FIRMWARES:

    Z2C A2 (Compatible MK802 Mediatek solution): https://mega.co.nz/#!6IkSHDyC!MbqUvy...PLcyGXW0qaablI

    Z2C B2 "Bluetooth version" (Compatible MK802B Mediatek solution): https://mega.co.nz/#!CM9lwbaB!V_qogh...NrfD5ic61MUJO4

Thanks for the reply , i understand now so the new mk808 boards are another revision with other chipset . oke perfect , but only the rk903 @ rk901 can be updated.
Yesterday i updated my mk808b with finless bob 2.1 , and.4.2.2, with 720p kernel and its works perfect , the 1080p have less fps and its laggy , but the 720 is perfect , so thank you very mutch

ps. the wifi signal is around 3 lines with the wifi router in the room , but the hd youtube streaming is smooth , perfect !. The new finless room are moded to a samsung gl2 and some apps in the play store are not available like Internet Speed test app , so i try to use the default model number ...

    Best Regards
    Rob!
