CYX Tech MK808b - Anyone see this one before or know what Rom to use?
Hello all,
I have been trying to figure this one out for a few days as it does not match the description of the other clones and of course WiFi and Bluetooth are gone (I'm using an Ethernet to usb adapter currently) I can flash anything 808 or 808b and it will work without wifi or blue tooth. If I try the 1.7 for clones I get stuck with the two penguins. Same with Sunviel. I cannot find any info on this one . It is a Rock-chip 3066 and the stamp on the board reads CYX tech mk808 v1.120130614
I know this is an 808b becuse I checked the factory rom before I flashed it and forgot to back it up. Just curious if anyone knows anything about this one and can reccoemnd a decent working ROM as I'm not having much luck
Thanks for any assistance as I'm trying to prove to my wife that a $50 stick can replace a laptop... she is winning this round and laughs at Android... I need to prove her wrongHelp!

yep, thats what I've got too. Didnt save the original ROM [like an idiot], decided to try a new setup since the original did not always boot successfully - went from Google TV to the Android screen back to Google TV, etc.
now Im stuck with a bricked device.
I have tried all of finless' ROMs 1.6-> 2.1 for original, clone 1 and 2 - no luck.
The nearest I get is with the 2.1 original (and 1.7 original) which install but leaves me without BT and Wifi. Others get stuck with two Penguins top left at boot.
Chip set is MT5931SA, MT6622N
Came with Android 4.2
Help! Think I have tried every rom I could find or so it seems ....
:-(
I have the same device with MT5931SA, MT6622N but mine came with android 4.1.1.
There's any ROM available that has working WIFI and BT?Last edited by makelele; 28 September 2013, 10:28.

cx-803II
I have another clone of the MK808B or should I say, it is a clone of a clone.
My cx-803II is a very similar clone of the MK808B Sunvel clone.
It a rk3066 with 2GB RAM and the following hardware I could identify on the plate
Release ---> cx-803B_V1.1_121230
WLan ---> Mediatek MT5931SA
Bluetooth ---> Mediatek MT6622N
hynix 2X4GB internal memory --->H5TC4G83MFR
audio ---> ES8323 (ECUAG4TW)
Here are the photos.
MediaFire is a simple to use free service that lets you put all your photos, documents, music, and video in a single place so you can access them anywhere and share them everywhere.
The question is, which TV-Stick is similar enough to create an Android 4.22 ?

Maybe we'll have custom ROM for this clone as well!
Cheers

Board does not match anything which has been posted in this thread so far.
Wifi/bluetooth are Mediatek.
Tried flashing Finless 1.7 Clone V1 and Finless 1.7 Sunvel. Now all I have is 2 Linux Penguins on boot.

I think there is another way to find out if your mk808b is original or clone.
1.install terminal emulator from playstore and open it
2.type su (you must be rooted)
3. type dmesg
From the output scroll down and look for the wifi entries and see if it is rk903 or something else
There are many entries so keep looking to end of the output.
I cannot confirm if this is the conclusive way because i cannot test it as i do not own a clone mk808b.
Those clone owners can you test it and feedback.
