Never tried Emby but installed it on both the server and Kodi client side and it makes the connection easily enough but trying to share anything was a complete failure and seemed to stem from the fact that to do anything of any real use you have to subscribe to their bonus features, which is not something I would do until I could see something practical working first.
Just seems to me to be a crippled product that you can't really try before you buy, so removed it all.

Originally posted by clarkss12 View PostOK, thanks. I tried it for the first time today on my desktop Windows computer, just to see how it works. I hear people say it is better than Kodi, had to see for my self. I will not use my power hungry desktop for a server, because it uses to much electricity. That is why I wondered if it would run on this device.
Oh it will run.
But for the parts that I needed to try it was subscription only.
I just spent a couple of hours streaming files from my laptop to Kodi on the box and vice versa, with all playing without issue on that front.
So I think it's just a case of finding the right solution for the money that you might want to pay.

Tried various settings in bios but without any success.
I could not see any settings in the BIOS for wake on Lan.

Some drivers posted over on the Tronsmart site.
I don't know whether they are updated drivers or not but will test them out later to see.

Update - I've gone through them all manually but all seem to be those that were supplied with the X5.
Useful to have should you ever need to carry out a clean install though.

Its also interesting that the box mentioned it on the back. Wouldnt be surprised to see dual booting cherry trail boxes hitting the market soon too. Has anyone tested out any form of game streaming yet? e.g. From an Xbox one or using steam in home?
