Their boxes are great boxes and run a great auto updating service.. but not interested in all that tbh.. just a few of us have a spot i7 so would love a straight box Openelec instal..

As I know, Maiz box is running openELEC over SPOT i5 (S805), it is not the SPOT i7 (S905)

Aaaa so it's the i5 version not the i7. Sorry for the mistake.. Ooooo well.. looks like it's the long version to get Openelec on the i7. Thanks for the info :-)

Im having issues with device running very hot and system hangs. Running Kodi 16.1 mkv movie @720 that is actually paused and left for an hour. After that i cant do anything just pull the plug from the device and wait for it to cool down.
The other probles is remote. It doesnt work every press (I have to press sometimes 2-3 times a button for it to work - no problems when using programed buttons on the tv).

The yellow block near the fan is a smart speed controller :- http://www.****.com.au/itm/Smart-Spe...IAAOSw-0xYeJl4
The fan is one of these :- http://www.****.com/itm/1pc-ADDA-Dua...-/170739153418.
The wi fi antenna and socket was from a cheap dongle I had.
Temperature sits at 49c idle and about 54c at stress test.
                    Very happy with the unit.
                    Cheers

Hello Kevin, Nice symmetry on the holes. For temp comparison, it is always good to list the ambient(room) temperature at the time of testing. The i7 is a fun one to mod.
                      Good job.

Hi RISCy Dude, ambient temperature was about 23c at time of test.
                        Cheers

                                IMHO
It would be useful to add holes around the circumference at the bottom of the top cover. Feet very low and the access of air through the holes in the bottom cover is weak.
