H build here.... I didn't notice this pre-G build but my box has been shutting itself down at overnight. I apologize if there is some setting somewhere I can't find.

I will be setting up remote logging to see if there is anything in the kodi.log but just wondering if anyone has experienced this and might have a quick solution. Thanks in-advance!

      Hi wilro,

did you have any time to try booting archlinux on the MX3G? In a previous post you mentioned that amlogic hasn't yet made public u-boot sources for the s812. Is this still the case? Looking at codesnake's repo, I see that one of the latest amlogic u-boot commits ( https://github.com/codesnake/uboot-a...7b99fae52d528c ) has some references to meson-m8m2, is it of any help?
Also it seems that the Wetek Core, that is based on the s812, is capable of dualbooting from sdcard, maybe we could borrow their u-boot?

I'd really like to be of some help. I'm quite familiar with coding, cross compiling, linux and so on, but have never had the chance to put together a full image.

I wonder if you could give me some hints (or point me to some docs) to get things going...

Thanks a lot in advance for your help and sorry for wasting your time.

      cheers

I have an odd problem which exists in OpenElec 6.0.0 or any Android firmware for that matter. The same problem exists if I load Tronsmart 106L firmware, 113L or Remix
        s 115.

My box is an MXIIIG. I can not install any skin.

I can install just about every add on I like and it works without problem, skins; however are just not co-operating. I have uploaded my log files the problems start on Line 222. It's reporting an MD5 issue. I am going to try loading from a zip and see if this works, I suspect not.

Any idea what may be going on with this thing? First time using OpenElec, I like it...although wish I could find a better way to integrate Neflix.

        Thanks
        cwh

i would have a look in the folder .kodi/addons/isengard/skin.aeon.nox.5/ for the file skin.aeon.nox.5-5.7.3.zip.md5 and try delete it

Great! I have bundled in the wetek HDMI CEC enabler in my next build (makes it easier to enable/disable cec), I'm also sorting through a swag of cec patches here that may/may not improve things.

Could you provide the video/audio specs of any problematic video's - I'm going nuts with this one really old DVD (mpeg2 audio), which plays perfectly on my S805 MXQ, using an almost identical OE build (other mpeg2 audio files appear to play fine on both)... AGGGHH!!!

And now everything is perfect with the Openelec!!!
Good reference - I had to tweak my advanced settings originally, & have always just copied it across after each update - forgot all about it! The nice thing about OE is that it's very light on memory, so there's plenty to spare for buffering (esp. with the generally poor wireless these boxes have

Thanks, I looked in the .kodi/addons folder but there is not an isengard directory, nor any reference to skin.aeon.nox.5? Unless I'm doing something wrong with SSH.

What are the advanced settings that you personally use to help buffering?

                    Howdy Folks,

                    We've had a couple of break through's:

                    1. Boot from SDCard! (All beers should go to kszaq for this - nice, simple solution which should allow *all* OE compatible amlogic boxs to support dual boot)
                    2. Openelec 6.0.1 released!
                    3. Suspend/Resume working!
                    4. Improved hdmi-cec support (better support for LG TV's) - Includes the kodi wetek hdmi-cec plugin by default to make it easier to disable/toggle it when it misbehaves.
                    5. Latest linux/amlogic kernel updates!

(More tweaks & patches than I can poke a stick at!)

I'm just finishing off a couple of last minute tweaks before I upload the new build...

Fantastic news Wilro, thanks in advance.

My MXIII-G box refuses to boot into Kodi since I foolishly tried to reset the OE settings (soft and hard) for a nice clean start. I've tried a toothpick install of the last build but it continues to fail to load after the splash screen. Does anyone have any suggestions to completely start afresh (without reverting back to Android!)?

it should work, make sure all your files are correct. Otherwise its not a hard job to load Android using the tool http://chinagadgetsreviews.com/video...-g-tv-box.html and then OE again.

                            also: much appreciations wilro

OK, New builds are up & available - Sorry for the delay (darn pesky power led

I've moved to using a dedicated directory for each of my releases (less clutter), & interestingly, if you use SD, you can use the "tar" files to "update" to my older releases (I went back to build "f", just to see if it works - I've included support for the sd boot since my first oe6 builds, as I was sure we'd "get there" one day...

                              Cheers.
