I believe you are mistaken. I will try it for sure, but mk908 uses lcdc0 for video out while t428 uses lcdc1 - It´s the main thing in the way for mk908 users. I have never achieved video at all with a t428 kernel on my mk908. However, often the firmware will boot, it´s just that I can´t see it on the screen.

I've been using an eternity cable attached to my router and flashing ROMs and Kernels from other sticks onto my Cx919 all work Ok apart from Bluetooth and wifi. I'm sure we will all will get bluetooth and wifi one day but until then to get smooth video then the strauzo kernel will do on my Cx919.

        That should read ethernet cable!

to Zahir: Nevermind, I was mistaken. He has compiled this in such a way that it will boot on mk908 with video. Just tried it and it booted right up. No wifi though of course. I wish this kernel had config.gz support so I could get wifi working on the 908 and try it out properly.

On my MK908, I used Strauzo's fixed kernel (the second one) with CX919_422 Finless 1.4. It booted all the way in and I saw the desktop, could get into settings, open apps etc. No wifi or Bluetooth.

I can verify that Bob's 1.5A ROM with Strauzo's kernel supports USB audio. I'm using a generic device like this connected to a powered USB hub.

The kernel which comes with Bob's 1.5A doesn't support USB audio, neither does the nexus ROM.

Thank you strauzo for not sharing your solution with other devs so they can build kernels for other tv boxes

Strange, I've tried this combo with my USB audio device (http://www.roland.com/products/en/UA-1EX/) and it's not detected even though it would previously work fine with the official tronsmart ROM. Maybe it's just a problem with my particular device.

I'll keep playing around but this is good to know.

I have been testing this combination today. My initial feelings are that I'm getting the best video playback I have yet seen (XAF-XBMC with MXPlayer Pro). I only have one T428 so I'm unable to perform side-by-side testing between the ROMs I've been playing with (Bob's 1.5A, Strauzo's nexus and this) and the differences when using Strauzo's kernel are, in any case, minuscule. Still, something tells me I'm now getting the best results yet and it's going to be very difficult for any other ROM to surpass them.

The only thing missing from my 'daily usability' list with this ROM is the support for USB audio (I don't use/need WLAN or BT). If Bob can have that added to the next release (or port whatever it is in this ROM that makes the video playback stand out over to the T428 ROM), I'll be a happy camper indeed.

Caveat: I may also be imagining things and wishing for the video playback to be even smoother with this ROM than it already was with Bob's 1.5A for T428.

its his code, he can do what he want with it.
you're not helping attacking him this way.
why wont you sue tronsmart for selling you a faulty minipc instead of attacking people that are working their ass off for nothing?

Hi BillMaudit and others, STRAUZO is not obliged to share his work with the Chinese manufacturer.

It would be too easy, for the store Chinese who sell, of unfinished products.

For me, this is not about money, but a matter of respect, for the consumer.

This is the Chinese manufacturers, which should open the heart (RK3188), For everyone, can share these discoveries.

thank you Finless, Strauzo and others, for your work ( and your SHARING CUSTOM ROM ).

Lets put it this way. Strauzo (and we who bought it) are disgusted to receive something which performs worse video wise compared to the RK3066.

My cx-919 which I bought to play video is simply lying in its box as a doorstopper. I have yet to receive an answer from Eric about my pm. If it was cheap to send it back I would now drive to the nearest post station and sent it back for a full refund simple as that.
We do not have to be guinea pigs for something basic. These device have been on the market for about 2 months now I guess and that bug (I would rather call it an elephant than a bug) has been in there since day 1.

The simple basic thing which it has to do does not work properly and that is .... playing video.
I do not care if something hits 1000000 Antutu points as long as it does what it needs to be doing.
It is simply amazing that 1 guy finds something and that a bunch of factory developers has to listen to.
I think Strauzo wants an answer first and will then decide to tell what is wrong.
