            china bashing and lack of appreciation

            Hi,

            I saw too many posts "punishing" strauzo to be quiet. Stop china bashing? What about bashing companies that send unfinished products to market? What about companies that ship products that are incapable of doing the basics? Can I do that? I think that me and other users that buy a quad-core powered device that is incapable of playing video have plenty of reasons for doing so!

            hoabycsr: strauzo violated GPL? What? How do you know that? Do you know what changes he did and where? More, does the GPL states a timeframe for when someone has to publish the changes? strauzo said he would release. He also stated that he wants to do more work on that. So, even if he changed GPL protected material, he isn't violating.

            For the ones that talk about the "community". What about taking a part of it? Instead of bashing someone that has provided something, why don't you provide also? He stated several times that he needs help, especially testing his work. He also welcomed and readily implemented user suggestions. At least do that and appreciate what has been given to you for free.

            strauzo, thank you for your work and effort!

            Moderator, if you prefer, you may move this post to another thread as its out-of-scope (as several other previous posts of other users).

                Geek buying said rockchip released official patches yesterday to resolve frame skipping on rk3188 mini PC's. So hopefully official rom/fix for all devices should be out soon + working cameras/working bluetooth input for keyboards

                  try also this rom if the above kernel don't work on nexus rom <DELETED>
                  The test kernel in nexus doesn't work with audio. Soundabout only lets you choose the output, not the input.

                  It works on the stock repack but that one has slow video playback.

                    As for the BT problem, try changing these settings:
                    Code:
                    # CONFIG_TCC_BT_DEV is not set
                    CONFIG_HIDRAW=y
                    CONFIG_USB_HIDDEV=y
                    There are new kernel sources:

                    They fixed my BT problem. Not sure if that's because of different config settings or changes in the code.

                      As for GPL, strauzo has already distributed the binary, that should have been accompanied by the sources. No timeframe required there...

                      As for the community, check my postings on this board, you'll find that I did in fact contribute things such as kernel configs, building instructions, etc. Same goes for some others.

                      Anyway, I said I will STOP. So, I will stop about these issue. I've made my point, strauzo his, let's ALL agree to disagree and stop this discussion. Thanks!

                          I think it's a given that the GPU does the upscaling on lower resolution material. Even with 720p output SD material needs to be upscaled (and deinterlaced) to that resolution. But what is the process with true 1080 source material when using a 720p kernel? Is the video downscaled to 720p and then upscaled back to 1080p or sent out "source direct"?

                          Edit: I also tried to edit the 'scale' file directly with the resolution set to default 720p. It didn't have any effect whatever values I tried. The 'yscale' value kept reverting back to 95 on each save and changing the xscale value did nothing.

                              You know that probably will NOT happen! Tronsmart has never released sources as they should.
                              Maybe if Rikomagic fixes this, we may get sources.

                                why Rikomagic share and rockchip no ?

                                should be rockchip to share and solve. i don't understand nothing about the policy of this rochchip devices.

                                really is a strange story.
