The LED might seem like a small thing, but yes, it's a very cool looking feature

further to controlling the led lights outside the original SunvellWin8Launcher, if someone does decide to have a go at it, this is what i have discovered so far looking into this, maybe it will be of help:

      - leds only work while in home screen on original sunvellwin8launcher

      - dmesg in terminal emulator gives the below for the led button on the remote:
      <1>[ 328.006310@1] QBled: cmd:0
      <1>[ 328.006333@1] QBled: arg:3remote: press ircode = 0x42, (204) (info)
      <6>[ 329.341866@0] remote: scancode = 0x00cc,maptable = 0,code:0xbd42fd88

also this (note the bold red that i highlighted)
      <1>[ 790.572888@2] QBled: arg:0type=1400 audit(1420071193.720:20): avc: denied { getattr } for pid=4788 comm="ll.win8launcher" path="/dev/qbled_dev" dev="tmpfs" ino=11295 scontext=u:r:untrusted_app:s0 tcontext=ubject_r:device:s0 tclass=chr_file permissive=1

      - the ir code "0x42" is mapped as linux keycode "204" as seen in /system/etc/remote.conf

      - the linux keycode 204 is mapped as android keycode "info" as seen in /system/usr/keylayout/Vendor_0001_Product_0001.kl

that's all i've got and that's as far as my knowledge took me. maybe someone, more capable than me, can uncover more in order to have this led lights controlled independently,

Just got my Qbox today, mine came rooted also installed twrp thanks to a post earlier in the thread but in twrp it only detected internal storage not my SD card does anyone know if there an update for twrp recovery? .using nova launcher as stock launcher I didn't like. had no problems with play store etc but Netflix playback is a bit choppy, its a lot quicker then my other TV box (MXIII) might be tempted to try the superclean ROM,is there an version which can be installed via twrp or just USB burning? these boxes seem to be getting better and better, just have to find out why twrp does recognize my sf card.but its a great TV box (so far)

Opps, spoke to soon....there's no miracast apk!!(not the one display settings) so no casting from my phone to the box.looks like I'm now looking for another ROM (stock) that has miracast or install the superceleron ROM for the Qbox my MXIII box is on kit-kat and that has miracast! now I'm beginning to wonder what else hasn't been installed....

What is the steel plate on the bottom case part for weight or shielding?

              Weight block normally.
Can also handy to put a hunk of thermal pad between PCB and it to help dissipate the heat id you have a problem
              Cheers

What is the safe temp for this device? Mine usually sits in the 80's degrees Celsius but I have seen it in the 90's during heavy cpu use periods.

Also anyone having problems with the blindingly bright LEDs I took out the LED light tube completely and it's alot better. I left the other piece of clear plastic inplace.

Hi, whilst librelec is running off usb, ssh into the box and simply type, installtointernal

                      Matt

Installing to internal memory (not recommended, risky)

Run from SD card/USB drive first. If it runs fine, connect to your box over SSH, execute installtointernal command and follow on-screen instructions. This command wipes SYSTEM and DATA partition!

CAUTION: If your box has a non-standard partition layout, you will see an error when trying to boot from internal memory for the first time. To solve it, you need to boot one more time from SD card and run installtointernal again.

                                Here’s what I did.

Boot libreelec from usb and run through the setup making sure you enable ssh. Also make sure you connected to your home network.
setup libreelec how you want it and then on another machine connect to the libreelec box using ssh. Type- ssh [email protected] ( or whatever your libreelec box IP address is.
It should then ask for a password it’s libreelec

Once connected type installtointernal and press enter.
follow the instructions, when it asks if you want to copy the user data partition say yes.

The box box should reboot when it’s done, remove the usb drive and you should be good to go.

Its a lot quicker running it from internal than it is off a usb or sad card.

                                Hope me that helps.

                                Matt
