    Gerry in this thread is trying to get a non-rooted install of Google Play (The new Market).

      how do I dump the rom from the tablet?

      OK... I installed adb and was able to find the tablet... now what commands do I need to use to dump the rom so I can share it with all you gurus? My DOS is pretty rusty!

        Google Play Music

        Thanks for your suggestion Bob. I was able to install Google Play Music, but this doesn't seem to get me to anything but the ability to download music via USB connection. It's not even asking for any Google credentials, which seems weird. I did power on and off several times but am not getting anything different.
        It was worth a try!

            I was considering buying this tablet from BigLots and upgrading the OS. Is that possible?

              Not until someone dumps a ROM for it. Then I can make a much better ROM for this tab.

                  No it wont. It may somewhat work but of course the screen is going to be a problem.

                  So I need a 4.3" ROM dump.

                      I just picked one of these up as well.

                      Bob - If you don't get the needed ROM info, let me know. I will see if I can start up my linux box and help.


                      Does anyone have problems with getting landscape mode on the home screen?
                      I have checked the setting and have it marked to auto rotate.
                      The orientation will rotate on the browser and in the menus, but not on the main screens.

                        If you guys want a rooted ROM with fast ext4 system, I will need a ROM to start with. So if you can dump your ROM I think you would help others also wanting a rooted ROM.

                          I was not sure if swlaraut had gotten you the dump or not.

                          The adb part needs to be done in linux, correct?
                          I will see if I can get my Linux box up and running tonight and see if I can get'er done tomorrow.

                              It has been so long since I played with linux. I was unable to muddle my way thru the installing the components and getting the dump down. Is anyone else out there able to? If not,
                              I will try again later.

                                I'm a noob to Android devices curently have a Blackberry Tour haven't done much to that though since it belongs to my job. Probably later on this week after doing more reading and understanding of the OS I'll see if anyone has any input here and then get down to the nitty gritty.
