    No you dont use backup....

    damn... this has me stumped. I wonder if the loader cant handle the changes.

    But again it should not fail to flash!

    Can you flash back the stock ROM and make sure that works.

    Then I have another idea to try. Keep the same order but just grow the system size. Might work. I will try that tomorrow.

      FYI, back up was NOT checked.
      I did have loader checked on each attempt after ErasingIDB

      I was able to flash back without problem.

      Will check back tomorrow for further instructions.

        Yep OK... Did you flash back with the RK Android tool (my last ROM kit) or did you use the RKbatch tool and update.img?

        But I have a new idea. I will keep the same structure but just see if we can increase the system.img size. If we cannot do that, I wont be able to make /system writeable But for sure I can give you a semi-root AND inject the Market (Google Play)!

          I used the RKAndroidTool and flashed the Finless Test1

          I had Play on it before we started testing, so that is not an issue.
          I would like root so I can use Titanium Backup

            Tomorrow I am hoping to make better progress!
            I think I may be able to do it Keep your fingers crossed.

            I found a RK28 SU and Superuser.apk so worst case I give you semi-root if tomorrow does not work out getting system as RW.

                    I got back about an hour ago. Flying or even taking the train would have been a good idea.
                    Instead I drove there and back. 9hr round trip.

                                Just a FYI: I returned my pmid4300

                                I mentioned in another thread that I found a pmid4300 that was sadly a return and for a good reason: The USB port was nonfunctional.

                                I have returned that unit and no more seem to be available. Also I am not looking for another as the pmid701c is rocking!
